If everyone knew how amazing emus are, no farm would be without one (or two)! Emus are native to Australia. Unlike their distant African cousins, the ostrich, emus are docile, peaceful creatures. Our emus live with our chickens full time and protect them from predators, small and large. Emus are the healthiest animal on our farm, which is fortuitous since most veterinarians have no experience treating them. Breeding occurs from November to March, with chicks hatching January through May.

We have four emus. Our standard color breeding pair is Chester and Sky. These two have produced eggs the past two years. Our blonde breeding pair is Legolas and Precious. This is their first year breeding (we hope)!

Chicks will be hatching between March and May. All three colors may be available, with more standard and blonde than white.
