This Privacy Policy describes how HideYourPhotos ("the App", "we", "us", "our") handles your information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Overview

HideYourPhotos is a personal media vault app for iPhone. We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed to keep your photos and videos private and secure on your device.

The short version: We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or media files. Everything stays on your device.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

To be clear, the App does not:

• Upload your photos, videos, or any media to external servers

• Collect analytics or usage data

• Use advertising SDKs or tracking services

• Use cookies or web tracking technologies

• Collect your IP address, device identifiers, or location data

• Share any data with third parties

• Use Google Play Services, AdMob, Firebase Analytics, or any similar services

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device and never leaves it:

3.1 Media Files

Photos and videos you import into the vault are saved within the App's sandboxed storage on your device. Thumbnails are generated and stored locally for display purposes.

3.2 Authentication Credentials

• Your 4-digit passcode is stored in the iOS Keychain with device-only protection. It is not backed up to iCloud and cannot be accessed by other apps.

• Your secret code (if set) is stored in the iOS Keychain under the same protection.

• Biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID) is handled entirely by the iOS operating system. We do not access or store any biometric data.

3.3 Apple ID (Optional)

If you choose to link your Apple ID for passcode recovery, we store only an anonymous Apple-provided identifier on your device. We do not request or receive your name, email address, or any other personal information from Apple.

3.4 App Preferences

Settings such as your selected language and display preferences are stored in the device's local storage (UserDefaults).

4. Device Permissions

The App may request the following permissions:
Photo Library: To allow you to select and import photos and videos into the vault. The App uses the iOS system picker, which grants access only to the specific items you select.
Face ID / Touch ID: To enable optional biometric authentication for unlocking the App.

The App does not request access to your camera, contacts, location, microphone, or any other device capabilities beyond what is listed above.

5. Data Security

• All App data is stored within the iOS application sandbox, which prevents other apps from accessing it.

• Authentication credentials are protected by the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-backed encryption.

• The App re-locks automatically when sent to the background or when the device becomes inactive.

While we implement reasonable security measures through iOS platform capabilities, no security system is completely impenetrable. The security of your data also depends on the security of your device itself.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

• Your data exists only on your device for as long as the App is installed.

• You can delete individual photos, videos, or albums at any time within the App.

• The App provides an account deletion feature that permanently removes all stored media, metadata, credentials, and preferences.

• Uninstalling the App removes all associated data from your device.

We do not retain any data on external servers, so there is nothing to delete on our end.

7. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external service interaction is Apple's Sign in with Apple, which is optional and handled entirely by Apple's own frameworks and privacy controls.

8. International Users

Since all data is stored locally on your device, no data crosses international borders through our App. Your data remains wherever your device is physically located.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
