In 1992 I started working in a local law firm as a receptionist and data entry clerk in their debt collections department. After advancing to a legal assistant position, I became a notary as part of that position. Years later I was promoted by hands-on experience to a paralegal position while at the same time finally earning my degree in paralegal studies in 2006. Near the end of 2007, I went to work for another law firm as a paralegal for two attorneys who handled personal injury, workers compensation, and family law cases until December 2012. Since January 2013, I have been employed as the legal intake coordinator with a non-profit organization that provides pro bono legal services in family law cases.
