Humanity Data was founded in 2019 to develop an analytical framework and technology platform for Humanitarian Organizations to enhance performance delivering humanitarian aid, at a lower cost, and higher value, with lower risk, to the intended beneficiary population. We are particularly interested in user voices and downward accountability as part of humanitarian aid delivery.
We are working on two solutions:
HOPE: Humanitarian Operations Planning Environment, will help organisations understand what resources to deploy, where, how, when and by whom, with a realistic understanding of risk.
HELP Humanitarian Enterprise Logistics and Provisioning, will help organisations track aid delivery and report easily to stakeholders.
Working with two local partners, in Yemen and Iraq, to determine what technologies and automated processes can enhance the delivery and performance of their humanitarian aid, and create technology applications for their bespoke use.
“50 innovations, 49 failures!” – a quote from one of the mentors in their experience piloting innovations in conflict zones.
Many of the innovations will fail, so we need to get comfortable with experimentation and failure. HGC has also provided us with a safe space to be honest about what doesn’t work.
We have access to technological capabilities around data analytics, visualisation and process automation. we are looking forward to collaborating with those deploying aid in conflict zones, but who need help in capturing impact of their work and storing data securely.
We are still early stage and don’t have a cookie-cut solution – we are here to listen and to help!
