Using Computer Shortcuts

Taking a screenshot on a Chromebook:

When you just only need to take a specific region of the screen, to do this simply press (Ctrl + Shift + F5).

This will save the file to your downloads folder, but you'll also have the option to 'copy to your clipboard' at which point you can paste into a Google Doc or Slide (ctrl + v)
