Martin Luther King challenged inequality in the world and having experienced discrimination himself, knew that discrimination and segregation were contrary to Jesus' teachings. He took direct action, organising boycotts of public transport buses by black Americans, causing the bus companies to lose their profit margin. He led sit ins and demonstrations, marches and gave speeches despite the risk of taking direct action might have. He was arrested, house bombed, stabbed and was finally shot dead on April 4th 1968. At 39 he had changed the segregation and discrimination laws in America because he was determined to live and work for a world of peace according to his deeply held beliefs and faith in God's will.
