IEEE UFFC-S America Latina en/em Foco Webinar series
As part of our Latin America Outreach Initiative, we are hosting a monthly webinar series with Latin American speakers.
IEEE UFFC society Latin America Ultrasonics Symposium
As part of our Latin America Outreach Initiative, we are hosting a Latin America Ultrasonics Symposium in 2021. We believe that regional events such as Latin America Ultrasonics Symposium (LAUS) will promote new opportunities to the ultrasonics engineering community and help develop a critical mass for this initiative.
High-Resolution Focused Ultrasound Neuromodulation Induces Limb-Specific Motor Responses in Mice in Vivo
Check out this great work by Christian Aurup on the EMG analysis of the motor evoked responses elicited by focused ultrasound neuromodulation. The results highlight one of the big advantages of focused ultrasound - the noninvasive, high spatial control of the brain!

Harmonic motion imaging of human breast masses: an in vivo clinical feasibility
In our newest paper, we demonstrate an ultrasound-based imaging modality that can identify suspicious masses in the breast and help to differentiate cancerous from non-cancerous tissues.
Great work led by my mentee, Niloufar Saharkhiz :-)
Our lab is in the Greek news!
Recent technological advances have led to the development of Magnetic Resonance (MR)-guided Focused Ultrasound (FUS) (MRgFUS). This technique is increasingly gaining ground as an advantageous alternative to conventional treatment of a variety of conditions for which numerous clinical trials are currently ... [More]
Ultrasound Neuromodulation: Mechanisms and the Potential of Multimodal Stimulation for Neuronal Function Assessment
Would you like to know more about ultrasound neuromodulation? Read our mini-review to learn more about the potential insights into mechanisms that magnetic resonance imaging sequences along with a multimodal stimulation approach involving electrical, magnetic, chemical, light, and mechanical stimuli can provide.

Grant approved in Brazil
I approved a grant to develop a device for a Brazilian company. The result can be found here (in Portuguese). We raised R$200k of public funding to develop this project. This project was later coordinated by Mr. Rogerio Bulha, since I moved to France to work as a postdoctoral research scientist.
