Make sure you've downloaded the maps of the areas you'd like to search offline. Check that you've tagged the option to use the app in offline mode. The street, city or region should be spelled correctly with no mistakes. Abbreviations might affect the app's results.

I am making an android application currently that will use "Here map SDK" for offline map navigation. I have followed the documentation given in -sdks/documentation/android-hybrid-plus/topics/maps-offline.html But I am having problem on its Implementation.

I am using HERE-Android-SDK to build a simple navigation solution with offline maps.While using the offline mode for the search addresses and calculation of a route, I can see that there are results returned from the address-search, which are not included in the installed offline map datasets. Is there anything additional which I need to do, in order to get only search results which are located inside the offline-map data installed on my device?

Here are maps in Garmin image file format people have created from OSM data. Sites are listed by continent, then by country alphabetically, then by suspected usefulness (eg. sites which cover a whole continent and are updated regularly are listed first.) Maps offered worldwide or for a continent are often offering country downloads - hence they are only listed once and not for each region again. As OpenStreetMap is changing fast - only maps updated during the last 6 month should be listed. Permanently Dead links - please remove the entry.

Maps are offered in different formats. As .exe for Mapsource and Basecamp and Qlandkarte GT installation (.exe can usually be unpaved with 7-zip or other programs). As .gmapi for Mac OSx Roadtrip/Basecamp. As gmapsupp.img for direct copying to a Garmin GPS device.

Downloading maps offline is a great way to cut down the internet traffic consumed by the navigation. In some cases you may find yourself in a place where no internet data access is present or it may be too slow to use comfortably. To prepare for such situation we recommend using offline maps capabilities of some of the popular mapping apps.

This app is very popular in Europe and has been a mapping app of choice for our clients in many countries. This app is free in basic features and let you to use it as a turn-by-turn navigator. More advanced features such as Traffic, enhanced POI, Dashcam or better maps are available in Premium mode for a fee.

Despite being very popular for its accurate directions that use crowd sourced data, the app heavily relies on internet for its algorithms. We cannot see a way to download offline maps for your trip ahead of time, so if internet is not available while on the go, use 3 options above as an alternative.

US Topo maps are produced by the National Geospatial Program of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). First launched in 2009, US Topos combine the familiar look and feel of legacy paper USGS topographic maps with technological advances of the 21st century.

US Topo map data is derived from the geographic information system (GIS) data of The National Map and is continuously updated via National, state, local, and commercial partnerships. Current and historic USGS topographic maps are available for immediate download from The National Map Downloader. Please note that not all features on historical maps appear on US Topos.

The Explorer app includes mapping tools to assist visitors with helpful wayfinding information when in the parks and on the trails. The new features include offline maps for use when connectivity is a challenge, and live maps for use on Wi-Fi or with good connectivity.

Note: The free version of the Avenza app lets you store as many maps as you want if you download them through the Avenza Map Store. If you get your geoPDF maps from somewhere else and open them in Avenza, the free version will limit you to three maps.

Now it's time to start your adventure! You can locate yourself on the map, even while offline. Add photos, record your GPS tracks, measure distance - you can do lots of things with a GeoPDF. Getting lost shouldn't be one of them.

Knowing how to download offline Google Maps is an important skill to know, especially if you're heading off into the great unknown. you don't want to get lost, simply because there's no cell signal, after all.

Fortunately accessing Google Maps offline is easier than ever, and in most cases won't require you to actually do anything. Considering how valuable a navigational tool it is, those offline maps can come in handy. Especially if you plan on doing some traveling over the holidays.

It's understandable if you'd rather download your maps manually, rather than rely on Google Maps functioning correctly all the time. Fortunately this is incredibly easy to accomplish, and can be done in two different ways. The most effective way is as follows:

Google Maps can prompt you to do this manually, but there is a way to let the app do things automatically. That way you will always have access to directions, even if you didn't think to download a map of the area beforehand.

Offline maps, scenes, and data allow users to continue being productive when network connectivity is poor or nonexistent. Users can explore maps, collect information, edit their asset data, find places, and routes to new locations, all while disconnected. Once a connection is reestablished, users can update their offline map by downloading changes relevant to their offline map or by synchronizing their edits with the online services. Users can also explore scenes, manage camera controllers, and find locations, all while disconnected.

Occasionally connected: Apps that are occasionally connected can download an offline map from a web map when a connection is available and continue to work offline when the device is disconnected. When connectivity is restored, any changes to operational data in the offline map can be synchronized with the online services in the source web map. Occasionally connected apps can adopt the following workflows:

To include data content in an offline map, the services referenced by layers in the web map must be enabled for offline use. See Take web maps offline in the ArcGIS Online documentation for more information.

Layers in an offline map can be configured to reference a service (instead of including content for that layer in the offline map). This is useful for layers that are updated frequently with time-sensitive content, such as a traffic layer. Content for these layers is only available while a network connection is present.

Fully disconnected: A fully disconnected workflow is suitable for apps that do not require regular data updates, or for apps that will never have access to a network connection. Apps can operate in a fully disconnected environment by opening mobile map packages or mobile scene packages created with ArcGIS Pro. These read-only packages can be shared within an organization or distributed by traditional means and copied onto any number of devices. An alternative to downloading an offline map or reading a mobile package is to programmatically construct the map using individual layers which can either reference offline data downloaded from individual services, or data files stored on the device. Working directly with layers gives you full flexibility to compose your own map or scene to use offline.

To access layer content while offline with the ahead-of-time or on-demand workflows, you should offline-enable feature services, image tile services, and vector tile services that are referenced by layers in the web map. The author of the web map can do this when publishing the web map, or later using any of the service management tools. Since my Nokia days (Symbian OS) when the devices were not as fast as we see today, HERE has been my go-to solution for offline navigation. There are several reasons for me to choose that, however, the main reason for me to choose this was that there was no limit as to how long I can keep the offline copy of the maps for a particular location on my device. ff782bc1db
