The Henrico Education Association is the union representing all employees in Henrico County Public Schools.
We work diligently and collectively to improve student and educator experiences in and out of the classroom.
We battle to protect our members when their rights are violated.
We advocate for change with the school board and HCPS Superintendent Dr. Amy Cashwell.
We are the team you play on, not a service you pay for. YOU are the union!
Dues for 2025-2026:
Full time Licensed Staff: $27.55 per paycheck or $55.10 per month.
This is for staff whose positions require professional licenses, like teachers, librarians, school counselors, ILCs, academic coaches, school psychologists, and social workers.
Part time Licensed Staff: $14.63 per paycheck or $29.26 per month.
Full time Education Support Staff: $14.59 per paycheck or $29.18 per month.
This is for any HCPS employee who is not licensed staff, such as instructional assistants, bus drivers, C&M, nutrition, security, administrative assistants, etc.
Part time Education Support Staff: $8.02 per paycheck or $16.04 per month.
Your dues go towards:
Access to our local Uni-serv Director, Mr. Divine Munyengeterwa.
He is your go-to person with any workplace concerns and can also come to your building to help you navigate individual issues or conflicts with supervisors.
Personal legal protection through the VEA legal department for work-related legal issues.
You have insurance on your home, health, car, and more. Why not on your livelihood?
Funding the advocacy work of the VEA on the state level and the NEA on the national level.
Educators don't have the time to advocate for ourselves to government officials, so we need well trained professionals to do so!
We know most lawmakers aren't in the classroom or working in our schools every day like we are.
Funding the advocacy work of the HEA on the local level within Henrico County.
Your dues DO NOT go towards:
Political campaigns!
It is illegal for union dues money to be donated to political campaigns or political candidates.
