Linguistic Apps
Autogloss (big languages)
Intergloss (small languages)
Intergloss adalah generator interlinear gloss, yaitu format anotasi linguistik standar internasional yang digunakan dalam publikasi ilmiah untuk menjelaskan struktur morfologi dan makna setiap unsur dalam sebuah kalimat.
Interlinear Gloss Generator is a standalone, 100% client-side web app for building Leipzig Glossing Rules-style interlinear morpheme glosses — no backend, no build step, no data leaves the browser.
Features:
Segment a sentence into words, then split each word into morphemes.
Type or quick-select Leipzig abbreviations for each morpheme, with datalist autocomplete.
Live, properly aligned interlinear preview (source text / gloss / free translation), with automatic small-caps rendering for grammatical abbreviations.
Export, all generated in-browser:
Copy as an HTML snippet
Copy as LaTeX
Download as a Word .docx file
Print / Save as PDF via the browser's native print dialog
Drafts, templates, and recent glosses are saved to localStorage so nothing is lost on refresh.

This website sums up my passions: traveling and linguistics.
Traveling
I have visited 28 countries and 1 micronation across four continents since I was 24.
I look at how language, history and culture meet in everyday public life.
My travel experiences influence the perspectives expressed on my websites, in class and in most situations.
Personal Project
WHAT: I collect photos of public signs and street advertisements in different languages and regional accents—including Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, and unique local varieties of Texan and Canadian English.
WHY: There are many reasons. but one of them is this: Signs I photographed in commonwealth countries and border areas, such as Komárno in Slovakia, offer proof of sociolinguistic theories. They show that real, spoken languages rarely conform to strict national borders.
HOW #1: To truly understand local culture and speech patterns, I have spent extended periods (over a month at a time) staying in the United States, Thailand, Australia, and Spain.
HOW #2: Sometimes you get lucky to visit some places more than once (or twice). For me, those places are Germany, Austria, France, Hungary, the Netherlands, Serbia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, the United States, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Cambodia.
My travel funding is built on financial responsibility and external support:
Sponsored Travel (ST): I have been fortunate to receive grants as well as familial and institutional funding to cover most of my travel expenses.
Look for the <ST> signs on my image captions below.
Traveling on a Shoestring: I value budget travel and view "vagabonding" as a highly uncommon set of skills and traits.
Favorite Travel Experiences
North American Overland
Exploring 40+ U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico while keeping a remote job.
Vagabonding: I lived a nomadic lifestyle, by myself, using Greyhound terminals and buses as my primary living and mobility infrastructure.
I used hostels strategically for 'proper' rest and showers, forming friendships with fellow travelers and joining them for impromptu city explorations.
"The Last Frontier" Expedition
In Alaska, I practiced shooting, camped in Denali National Park, flew over glaciers in a helicopter, and took a boat tour through the glaciers of Prince William Sound. I visited a remote homestead overlooking Susitna River and observed beavers in their natural environment.
Indonesian Overland
I have traveled extensively across Java, my home island, gaining firsthand familiarity with its diverse regions, cultures, and dialects. Beyond Java, I have been to West Sumatra, Bali, and Lombok. One of my most memorable domestic travel experiences was camping at the base of Anak Krakatau (Krakatoa), an active volcanic island in the Sunda Strait, Lampung Province.

Teaching Connection
As a subtle tribute to my journey, the test codes for the IELTS and TOEFL practice materials on this site are named after places I have visited.

Linguistics
Linguistics isn’t just my job; it’s practically hardwired into my brain and part of who I am.
Whenever I hear a strange sentence or new sounds, my mind just snaps to attention and starts breaking down the syntax.
And almost before I even think about it, my mouth is mimicking those sounds my ears just sent to my brain. Like an automatic reflex.
Personal Projects:
Feel free to explore my projects at the 'Linguistics' and 'Resources' menus on this website.
You probably notice that this entire website uses B1-level English, not C1 or C2. This is intentional. It shows applied linguistics in action.
Career Path
Linguistics shaped who I am, and I have never truly left the field.
My professional journey includes extensive experience in language training and various other industries.
Far from being a distraction, this cross-disciplinary work deepened my understanding of how people communicate in real professional environments, enhancing my applied linguistic skills.
Currently, I am returning to my academic roots to focus on my mother tongue, the diglossic Indonesian language. Colloquial Indonesian, in particular, offers rich opportunities for theoretical research.
To support this goal, I have developed a spoken multimodal corpus, awaiting ethics clearance/IRB approval, as a foundation for rigorous empirical study within a PhD program.
━━━━━━━━━━━ ❖ ━━━━━━━━━━━
Conclusion?
I experience and understand the world through exploration and linguistics.
'Traveling' redefined?
For me, exploration spans both physical geography and intellectual inquiry—from diverse art forms to the rigorous acquisition of new skills.
I view language as a secret codebreaker that opens doors to new perspectives.
Thriving on intellectual variety, I see multilingualism as a way to adopt different ways of thinking and seeing the world....Much like the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis about linguistic relativity. Read more here.
