Hendrik Lie is an aspiring writer of both fiction and non-fiction. He enjoys the works of Isaac Asimov, George Orwell, Cory Doctorow, Douglas Adams, and Dee Lestari. One of his goals was to publish at least a fiction book and a nonfiction book in the next five years.

He spent his past times exploring and solving various problems to keep his mind sharp at all times. His favorite means of solving a problem is by constructing arguments from the first principles. If it is a legal problem, he would start from the fundamental legal construction first before going for theoretical or doctrine grounds. If it is a science problem he did for fun, he would start with the foundational principles first before advancing through the solutions.
