Mathias is the husband of Melvina Vandevendar (Elizabeth Helmick's sister?) Elizabeth, buried at Sugarland Church, is the mother of Abraham, Miles Pleasant and William Henry. Therefore, he was a first cousin of Miles Phillip's sons and daughters.
