On September 25, 2023, a grand jury indictment was announced against 17 Hells Angels members who were accused of a racially motivated attack In Ocean Beach, San Diego California. Three months after the crime and the large-scale investigation, officials arrested 17 men and women in connection with the case. They range in age from 22 to 57 years old, and are facing various allegations including assault, hate crimes, and accessory after the fact, and one man faces a charge of attempted murder.
San Diego District Attorney Summer Stephan stated, “This is one of the largest violent crimes prosecutions against Hells Angels in our county and likely our nation."

Scott James Allan, a former Hells Angels member, along with Brendon Ross Richardson and Andrew John Sisson, has been sentenced for their roles in a Hells Angels meth ring exposed in Operation Buckle. Allan, a reformed meth cook, played a crucial role in manufacturing meth for the gang. The trio conspired to deal and manufacture meth, with Sisson supplying wholesale units to gang member Darren Ian Charles Gilmore. The operation involved several trips and significant quantities of meth.
The arrests were part of Operation Buckle, which targeted a Hells Angels meth ring operating in and around Palmerston North. The investigation revealed the gang's involvement in large-scale meth distribution, connecting street-level dealers to wholesale suppliers. The trio's roles varied, with Allan directly involved in manufacturing, Richardson in street-level distribution, and Sisson at the top of the supply chain.
