Greetings from the Department of Clinical Psychology, Helen Keller’s Institute of Research & Rehabilitation for the Disabled Children (HKIRRDC), Hellen Keller’s Group of Institutions (Estd. 1985, 40+ years of dedicated services).
We are pleased to invite your esteemed institution to participate in a Free Mental Health and Wellbeing Workshop / Outreach / Awareness Session specially designed for school and Intermediate students.
The initiative is intended to promote mental health awareness, emotional wellbeing, resilience and essential life skills among young people, in keeping with the broader educational and wellbeing objectives of UN Life Skills, National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and WHO approaches to mental health promotion.
Theme:
Duration: 1–2 Hours
Preferred Time: Any working day between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM (or as required)
Participants: School / Intermediate Students
Additional Participants: Teachers and Staff may also participate
Mode: Interactive Awareness Session / Workshop / Outreach Programme (Online / Virtual / Offline(in School/College) / Hybrid Mode)
Certificate: E-Certificate of Participation for participating students and staff
The programme will cover age-appropriate and practical topics including:
Understanding mental health and wellbeing
Self-awareness and self-esteem
Understanding and managing emotions
Stress and examination pressure
Healthy coping strategies
Emotional regulation
Communication and interpersonal relationships
Decision-making and problem-solving
Resilience and positive thinking
Digital wellbeing and responsible technology use
Recognising when support may be needed
Help-seeking and supporting peers
Essential life skills for students
The sessions will be interactive, participatory and developmentally appropriate, incorporating discussions, activities, examples, reflection exercises and opportunities for students to ask questions.
This programme is being offered as a free educational and community outreach initiative by the Department of Clinical Psychology, HKIRRDC. No programme fee will be charged to the participating educational institution for the proposed 1–2 hour awareness session.
We believe that schools and colleges play a vital role in nurturing not only academic achievement but also the emotional, social and psychological wellbeing of students. We therefore invite your institution to collaborate with us in taking mental health awareness and life-skills education to students.
The session may be organised on any mutually convenient working day, during the institution's normal working hours, preferably between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
The date, time, student group, duration and format may be finalised in consultation with the institution.
All participating students and staff/teachers may receive an E-Certificate of Participation, subject to the submission of the required participant details, attendance and completion of the programme.
We kindly request you to nominate a Faculty/Institutional Coordinator to coordinate with the Department of Clinical Psychology, HKIRRDC for scheduling and logistical arrangements.
