My name is Helen Hays,  I am 59 years old and have lived in Bulverde Hills since 1999.  I was born in the Canal Zone into a military family and have been lucky to have lived in and traveled to many countries.  I am bilingual, speak Spanish fluently and was a certified translator for many years.  I am a graduate of Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi where I received a Bachelor of Business Administration.  I later pursued a Masters Degree from Texas State University and received a Master of Science with a Major in Dementia and Aging Studies and am Certified in Long Term Care Administration.

I am a Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator and although not working in that capacity at this time, my heart resides with the elderly and infirmed.  I worked in the medical community for over 20 years up until COVID.  I currently am a General Home Improvement Contractor and truly enjoy making people's dreams come true when it comes to their homes and living spaces.  On the side I am also a paralegal and a notary public.  

I have vast experience working within governmental entities.  I worked for The USSOUTHERN Command (USSOUTHCOM) in Latin America and also worked in The Presidential Office in Panama.  I was also appointed as a member of The Corpus Christi Sister City Committee and particiapted in Leadership Corpus Christi.

On the weekends I am a U.S. SOCCER Certified Referee, Referee Assignor and U.S. SOCCER Referee Mentor & Coach.  This keeps me in shape and keeps me in tune with our youth.

I am a current Volunteer of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, was selected Volunteer of the year with the American Heart Association,  and have been involved with the American Cancer Society.

My biggest and greatest success has been my family, as I am a mother of a wonderful son who graduated from Smithson Valley High School, and a very proud grandmother of a beautiful little girl.  

GOD is also a priority in my life, I am Catholic and attend St. Joseph's Honey Creek Church, and am a past President of the Pastoral Council.
