Light Refraction!
As a part of our science unit on light, students got to experience the beauty of refraction. As we walked around looking at different sources of light, students were able to see real example of the way light waves can bend and reflect different colors, using light refraction glasses!
Math in Action!
In order to create an opportunity to use our new math skills to develop solutions to real- world situations, students got to design a local park. They chose the different pieces of equipment. The park must accommodate exactly 20 people, and only one "large" equipment item could be chosen. Here are a few examples of the different ways students created parks using their addition and subtraction skills!
Family Math Night!
This is a presentation I created for a Family Math night. It provides examples of learning activities based on specific Oregon State math Standards. It provides clear activities with visual supports, rationales for learning, and suggestions for at home activities to build skills. This presentation is an example of by ability to use technology to communicate ideas effectively. It is also a demonstration of my communications skills with students and their families.
