The Union Congregational Church in Hebron, New Hampshire is seeking a half-time pastor. Our Church is a small but healthy and energetic UCC congregation located on the common of a quintessential New England village in mid-state New Hampshire. Located on the shores of Newfound Lake and at the base of the White Mountains, we are surrounded by natural beauty with countless opportunities for four season outdoor activities. Hebron neighbors the university town of Plymouth, NH and is one hour north of Concord and two hours north of Boston.
Our congregation, originally formed nearly 250 years ago, is stable with a weekly church attendance of approximately 35 and a membership of about 60 mostly residents and seasonal families whose children are living elsewhere. Members are actively involved in the worship life of the church including its mixed-voice choir. The Church has committed itself to service through local and global mission projects as well as through other community outreach initiatives. Church members generously support those in need, nearby and beyond. The Church is financially strong and is a central cog in the life of the community. Additionally, the church hosts local organizations and serves as the community emergency shelter.
We are seeking a settled pastor who will preach a spiritually uplifting and stimulating sermon and who will provide pastoral care while supporting community outreach. The pastor will coordinate services with the music director and will participate in all meetings of the church leadership.
