Chewing a nice piece of notebook paper in the Blurred Realities Exhibition at the MSU Museum, I video documented myself.
While critiquing the widespread use of AI, the fact that this is the current main exhibition at the MSU Museum makes the empty halls void of life, all that much more void. Like seriously, all those years of renovations just for AI? In the empty salt room I happened upon a small notebook. The museum had just opened, but already I could tell the pages were well touched. I turned to my friend and asked if they were willing to film me chewing a piece of paper for a performance art class. He said yes, and without further thought I ripped out a blank page in hoping less hands had touched it. I thought about drawing something on it. All I could think of was the anti AI symbol. I wasn't the biggest fan of that idea, so in order to not hesitate, I just began walking toward the Blurred Realities Exhibition, and sat down on the AI bed. We promptly started to film. Before when we were in that room, there was a whole group of people. I was hoping they were still there, but fittingly, the room was completely void of all life, other than the droning cacophony of AI voices speaking in the background.
