A public urban installation to experience Vancouver's rain culture. The Rain Bench is a participatory design project for a city that loves its parks and hates its winters. The Rain Bench provokes urban dwellers to visit their parks during the wetter months of the year and see the beauty of the rain season.

Basic (Re)Purpose Design Studio is a collaboration between three Emily Carr University of Art + Design graduates: Interaction Designer Jesi Carson, and Industrial Designers Heather Mitchell and Theunis Snyman. We design sustainable products, systems and spaces using re-purposed waste materials from local industries. We also design with a purpose, using the products we sell to raise funds for local and international social projects.
