Always carry a water bottle and an umbrella (and in Wisconsin, probably gloves too).
Form study groups in your classes! Exchange numbers/contact info and review material together, study together, and problem solve together.
Go to office hours with both TAs and professors. TAs can be really helpful with your course material. Professors are both helpful with course material and also may provide really useful advice for your future.
Set near-term and long-term goals for yourself so you know what you're aiming towards.
Find a way to create structure for yourself. For me, I needed a routine. You may need a planner, an accountability buddy, or some other system. College might be the first time you're in control of your time, so use it wisely!
Look for opportunities! There are many ways to go through college-- be proactive and fill your plate with meaningful experiences in a way you feel best builds you into the person/learner/professional you want to be.
Get involved in things you like to make friends you like. Don't know what you like? Try a lot of things!
Say yes to a lot, but protect yourself and your time-- say no sometimes too.
Sleep, move your body, eat well.
