Heather E Gaya

Hi, I'm Heather Gaya

I'm interested in modeling population demographics and abundance, especially in the context of climate change. I'm currently developing a Bayesian modeling framework for songbird abundance in North Carolina but I've previously worked with grass, small mammals and tortoises!

I'm also really interested in finding ways to make programming and statistics more accessible to ecologists and wildlife biologists. I've previously developed a "Shiny Apps" for Simple Probability Distributions, Bayesian Line-Transect Distance Sampling, and Southern Pine Beetle Outbreaks and enjoy making tutorials about topics related to Bayesian coding and my research.

I co-own a statistical consulting company called H&H Ecological Analysts. We are happy to help with any data analysis issues you might have - everything from t-tests and GLMS to coding Bayesian models and creating your own Microsoft Access Database for your project. Check us out!
