In my MS, I developed Bayesian hierarchical models to improve abundance estimates of Gopher Tortoises (Gopherus polyphemus). I also worked on improving gopher tortoise survey design to better account for hard to detect individuals. My full thesis can be found here.
For my PhD, I worked on developing a spatially explicit individual-based modeling framework to understand how songbird populations changed over time. I modeled songbird abundance, competition and population demography for birds marked and monitored in the Southern Appalachians.
I'm currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Georgia. I've worked on multiple projects, but all of the have centered around estimating population demographic and abundance.
