What is ADU?
ADU is a specialized tactical enforcement unit within the TEXAS DEPARTMENT PUBLIC SAFETY tasked with:
Pursuing and apprehending high-risk suspects
Conducting felony Pursuits and advanced vehicle interventions.
Supporting standard patrol units during escalated pursuits.
Utilizing advanced vehicles, tactics, and coordination to safely bring dangerous situations under control
Pursuit & PIT Guidelines
15-40 MPH PITS will be allowed If the road way is clear of traffic and pedestrians.
71–100 MPH Pursuits must use extreme caution with extreme threat to public safety. Requires supervisor authorization.
41–70 MPH Yes must use caution and the road must be clear of traffic and pedestrians. Supervisor call-out will be encouraged.
190+ MPH pursuits will be TERMINATED unless deadly force is present. Air unit only WILL FOLLOW UNTIL SUSPECT STOPS SOME WHERE.
HEAT Division Responsibilities
Operate with caution and proper authorization during armed encounters. Coordinate with Air Units when needed.
PLEASE respect the Chain of Command. Orders from ADU Command must be followed at all times.
Do Not Abuse Your Powers. ADU is not a Division to act recklessly or dominate standard patrol units.
When ADU is needed you have to go to the DPS Station and grab your ADU Vehicle you cannot just spawn your ADU Vehicle in the middle of nowhere that is not allowed.
