Welcome to Heart of Farnborough
We are an independent community group, run by members living and working in Farnborough, or with a passion for the town, focused on bringing people together and helping to create a vibrant town for our residents and visitors!
We usually meet once a month
Our meetings currently take place at the council offices, but we also meet on Teams/Zoom and can hold hybrid meetings which are open to all.
We get updates about what’s going in on the town centre and local events, and talk about what we’d like to organise or take part in. Sometimes we get guest speakers in. The council also consults the group on major issues such as the Civic Quarter development or Leisure and Cultural Hub. Meetings last no more than 90 minutes and you can dip in and out of the group whenever you like! Although we get help and input from the council, we are an independent group. Membership is free.
What do we do?
In the past year members have visited Farnborough Abbey and the FAST museum, taken part in a number of litter picks, joined in guided walks around the town and helped out at the town’s biggest event, the Farnborough Frost Fair
We aim to be diverse!
Our aim is to be a group of all backgrounds so we can harness lots of different skills. At the moment, we know we need to get young people and those from minority backgrounds involved.
So, if you’d like to share your knowledge or put some of your skills to use and make a difference, as a first step please fill in the very short form, to give us the necessary permissions at: www.rushmoor.gov.uk/community-parks-and-leisure/heart-of-farnborough-group/
