Dr. Lisa Folden, DPT

Who Am I?

Born and raised in Detroit, MI., I am a North Carolina licensed physical therapist, NASM certified behavior change specialist and Anti-diet Movement & Body Image Coach. I own Healthy Phit Physical Therapy & Wellness Consultants in Charlotte, NC where I provide weight-inclusive services to clients in diverse bodies and those in eating disorder recovery.

As a health at every size (HAES®️) ambassador and movement expert, I assist clients seeking healthier lifestyles. My weight-neutral approach encourages intuitive eating, joyful movement, body acceptance and breaking up with toxic diet culture.

I'm a mom of three, published author and speaker and my primary goal is to see as many people as possible living their best lives without worrying about their weight!

When I’m not helping patients, speaking at events or writing, you can find me spending time with my family and friends. Lately, I’m into red wine, bird watching, hiking, organizing and binging mystery shows on TV.

Educational Background

I completed my Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degrees at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. Following graduation and one year of work in Kalamazoo, MI, my family and I relocated to Charlotte, NC where I obtained additional experience in a plethora of diverse practice settings.

With more than sixteen years experience in the field of physical therapy, I have treated patients as young as 1-day old and as “seasoned” as 101-years-old. Working in various settings including home care, inpatient (hospital), outpatient (adult and pediatrics), long term acute care, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living and school systems has allowed me to treat many neurological, orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. These broad experiences have helped to create a practice that can meet the needs of almost any patient.
