All of these issues were caused or worsened by the activities of our globalized society. As a result, none of these problems can be solved by a single individual, organization, or even country alone. It will take a sustained, coordinated group effort from everyone all around the globe to turn back the damage that has been done to our oceans. Of course, it can’t all be done at once; it will take many small steps in the right direction, making it essential to start addressing these issues as soon as possible. So, what can you do to help?
Vote for the elected officials that support the changes that you want to see. Even if you can’t vote, write to your representatives to let them know what issues are important to you.
