HealthRoot (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) is a mobile application developed by Vinayak Ramesh Sutar. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the HealthRoot Android app.

By using HealthRoot, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

HealthRoot is designed to keep your data private and under your control. We collect only the following information:

A. Profile Information (provided by you)

1. Full name

2. Age

3. Height (optional)

4. Weight (optional)

B. Health Data (provided by you)

1. Blood pressure readings

2. Diabetes-related recordings (e.g., blood sugar levels or related entries)

C. Device & Advertising Data

• When you use the App, Google AdMob (our advertising partner) may automatically collect certain device information such as advertising ID, device type, IP address, and usage data for the purpose of showing relevant ads.

We do not collect your location, contacts, camera data, microphone data, or any other personal information beyond what is listed above.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

• All your profile information and health records (blood pressure and diabetes data) are stored locally on your device in an SQLite database.

• We do not upload, sync, or store your personal or health data on any external servers.

• You can export the local SQLite database file at any time and use it as a backup.

Your health data remains under your control on your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide for the following purposes only:

1. Personalization – To display your name and basic profile details inside the App

2. Health Tracking – To allow you to record, view, and manage your blood pressure and diabetes readings

3. Analytics – To understand basic app usage patterns and improve the App’s performance and features

4. Advertising – To show ads through Google AdMob

4. Sharing of Your Information

1. We do not sell your personal or health data.

2. We do not share your profile or health records with any third parties.

3. Your health data stays on your device unless you choose to export the database file yourself.

The only third-party service that may receive limited device/advertising data is Google AdMob, which operates under Google’s own privacy policy.

5. Advertising

HealthRoot uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and process certain device identifiers and usage data in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. You can learn more about how Google uses data here:

You may be able to reset your advertising ID or limit ad personalization through your Android device settings.

6. Data Security

Because your data is stored locally on your device, its security depends largely on the security of your phone (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We do not transmit your health records over the internet, which significantly reduces the risk of remote data breaches.

7. Your Rights and Control

You have full control over your data:

1. You can edit or delete your profile information and health records at any time inside the App.

2. You can export your entire database as a backup.

3. You can uninstall the App, which will remove the local data stored by HealthRoot (unless you have previously exported it).

8. Children’s Privacy

HealthRoot is intended for general users and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the App along with an updated “Effective Date.” Continued use of the App after changes are made means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
