If you or someone you know is in crisis, the following national helplines and resources are available for confidential support. These services cover a range of needs, from mental health and substance abuse to domestic violence and other emergencies. 

Mental health and crisis support

• 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Offers 24/7, confidential support for people in emotional distress or suicidal crisis. You can call, text, or chat with a trained counselor.

• The Trevor Project: Provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ young people.

Substance abuse

• SAMHSA National Helpline: A free, confidential, 24/7 referral and information service for people and families facing mental and/or substance use disorders.

• FindTreatment.gov: An anonymous and confidential online resource for people seeking treatment for mental and substance use disorders in the U.S. 

Domestic and sexual violence

• National Domestic Violence Hotline: Provides 24/7, confidential support to people experiencing domestic violence.

• RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network): Offers free, confidential support for survivors of sexual violence.

• StrongHearts Native Helpline: A culturally appropriate domestic violence and dating violence helpline for Native Americans and Alaska Natives.
