For our project we will be transcribing interviews for HEAL and writing short stories that summarize those interviews. The interviews will be coming from students from diverse backgrounds and minority groups. Heal hopes that by magnifying the voice of young people with different perspectives they can make the environmental field a more inclusive space. They also hope to learn and gather strength from their opinions.

Individual Roles: We divided up the interviews evenly and updated each other on our progress at our weekly meetings. The process was much more lengthy than we anticipated but Chloe found a transcription software that allowed us to finish all of the interviews for our client within our 20 hours.

Our assignment was very straight-forward: to transcribe interviews from students of diverse backgrounds to make the environmental field a more inclusive space. Each week we turned in the work we had finished on our interview transcriptions for our deliverables. What we didn't get to share was how much we learned just from listening to them. Each interviewee had a unique perspective on the environment, environmental justice, and other political dilemmas that are relevant in our country. Their backgrounds and personal experience added to their knowledge and made their stories much more relevant and drastically increased the urgency of their message. We believe these interviews will make the difference HEAL is trying to make.
