The UVU Students Downwinders Project
The UVU Students Downwinders Project
For our project we will be working with the organization HEAL Utah on a project they have been working on all about downwinders. A downwinder is a title that refers to a person who lives downwind from a potential hazard. This is a term that was used to describe individuals in Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon that lived right downwind from a nuclear power station and test site. HEAL is gathering stories from native Utahans in order to see the patterns of certain locations and their communities and the unclean water or air that they are subject to.
