Some soldiers have no marked grave or are buried in military cemetaries abroad, so they have been mentioned on their families headstones. Some of the families could not afford a headstone and so are in unmarked graves. As we are sure they would also have commemorated their sons, plaques for those in these circumstances will be arranged.
Private Mark Atkin (1898-1916) Killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, age 18. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the missing.
Rifleman Harry Ellis (1898-1917) Killed in Battle of Cambrai and commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial to the missing.
Private Harry Wray (1892-1917) Killed in action age 25, buried at Assevillers New British Cemetery, France.
Private Albert Haywood (1894-1967) Wounded in France, discharged 1918.
