Despite all of this planning, we all have to acknowledge that we are living in uncertain times and our first concern is the health and safety of our students and staff. The bulleted list below outlines the major safety measures we will be implementing with the Early Dismissal - Every Day Plan.
Face coverings will be required the entire time for students and staff. Masks breaks with social distancing in place will be scheduled into the day.
Daily Cleaning and Sanitation will take place each day when the children are in the building. Deep Cleaning of hallways and bathrooms will take place during the remainder of the day when staff is in the building and the night crew will be focused on deep cleaning classrooms once staff leaves for the day.
Each classroom will have an ample supply of hand sanitizer and wipes on hand. All students will sanitize hands upon entering the classroom. All classrooms are outfitted with a sink and soap dispensers when washing hands is needed.
Bathrooms will be cleaned on a 30 to 60 minute rotation during the day. One student will be permitted to use hallway bathrooms at a time. Teachers will dismiss no more than one boy or girl to the bathroom at a time. Bathroom air dryers have been replaced with towel dispensers.
Student desks will be separated by six feet when possible. All students will have individual desk shields in place when social distancing is not possible. All student desks will face the same direction at all times as to not have students facing one another.
All parents will be given a daily health screener for their child each morning.
Teachers will be urged to make use of the outdoor campus to conduct class when the weather permits.
Hallways are marked for one way travel and classroom routes will be in place to minimize cross contamination.
These are only the major safety measures in place. At different times during the day the custodial staff will be cleaning general areas, door handles, and students desks.
