DEPARTMENT LEADERSHIP
Meet the members who run the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office on a daily basis. Each member of our Chain of Command was carefully selected by members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office High Command Team, after undergoing a rigorous selection process. These members play a valuable role to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, by maintaining & updating department policies & procedures, managing the Field Training Officer program, operating the administration division, handling supervisor requests throughout the County, as well with our divisions, and much more. The Sheriff of Hillsborough County is the highest rank in the structure. The Sheriff is responsible for supervising the overall operation of the department and ensures that subordinates are operating in a proper fashion.
The Undersheriff of Hillsborough County is the second-highest ranking individual in the department. He/she is the Sheriffs assistant when it comes to department matters and serves as Interim Sheriff in his/her absence. The Undersheriff is also a member of several sub offices and carries out any duties that may be necessary for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and its divisions to run smoothly and efficiently.
The Assistant Sheriff of HCSO is the third-in-command for the IA operations of the department. The Chief Deputy is the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office main station commander and main patrol supervisor.
Chief Deputy:
The Chief Deputy is the fourth-in-command for the division operations of the department. The Major is the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Chain of Command Supervisor of all divisions.
Major of Training & Education:
The Major of T&E is the fifth-in-command for the Field Training Department, the major is the Director of Education and is the main recruiting member of the department.
Major of OPA:
The Major of OPA is the sixed-in-command for the IA operations of the department. The Major is the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office main station commander and the Professionalism and Ethics Supervisor
