About Our Program

Small group Instrumental Lessons (all students grades 6 - 12)

Lessons are provided during school to all students enrolled in the band program. Lessons are 30-40 minutes, once a week, and in small groups of like-instruments. Students need to know when their lesson day and time is scheduled, and bring their instrument and lesson book on that day each week. Middle and High School Lessons are scheduled on a rotating basis so that students will not miss the same subject every week. If the student’s class is involved in a special project, test, etc. he/she may reschedule the lesson, or will be excused for that week. Each student and classroom teacher will receive a monthly lesson schedule in advance. In middle and high school, poor lesson attendance and lack of practice will result in a lowered grade.

Elementary Band Rehearsal (grade 5)

In October, 1st year players begin elementary band rehearsals on their instruments. Elementary Band is a performing group, and our rehearsal time is dedicated to preparing students in an ensemble setting for their concert performances. Rehearsals are once a week and we will perform our first concert in January! Students will also perform at their moving up ceremony in May. Junior Band Rehearsal (grades 6 and 7)

Second and third year players begin junior band rehearsals upon entering Grade 6. Junior Band is a performing group, and our rehearsal time is dedicated to preparing students in an ensemble setting for their concert performances. Senior Band Rehearsal (grades 8 through 12)

Players begin Senior band rehearsals upon entering Grade 8. Senior Band is a performing group, and our rehearsal time is dedicated to preparing students in an ensemble setting for their concert performances. Rehearsals are held on Even Days on the daily rotation and we will perform in December and May concerts, along with participating in the Memorial Day Parade and Graduation Ceremony!
