We advance health equity in the face of climate change through technology and data-driven solutions
Identify Vulnerable Populations and Risk Factors
Vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, children, low-income communities, and individuals with preexisting health conditions, face heightened risks from extreme heat, air pollution, and other environmental hazards. Based on the data-driven solutions this could be applied to climate health technology (e.g., hospital and smartphone applications), environmental safety technology (e.g., real-time data collection and early warning system), and climate financial assessment (e.g., health insurance coverage).
Evaluate Greenspace as a Mitigation Strategy
Greenspace plays a crucial role in mitigating the health impacts of climate change by reducing urban heat, improving air quality, and promoting overall well-being. Evaluating greenspace as a mitigation strategy requires integrating spatial analysis, health data, and socio-economic factors to ensure that green infrastructure investments prioritize vulnerable populations, ultimately advancing environmental justice.
We plan to incorporate various environmental imagery analyses that can enhance greenspace assessments by providing large-scale, high-resolution data on vegetation coverage and accessibility.
Explore Understudied Climate-Health Pathways
We plan to explore understudied climate-health pathways to uncover the complex interactions between environmental stressors and health outcomes. Insights gained from these investigations will subsequently inform and refine future climate health technologies.
