Mission Statement:
The Highlands County Education Association champions the rights of education professionals while promoting equity and opportunity for all students.
Highlands County Education Association (HCEA) is the association that represents the 800+ people who fall under the “teacher” umbrella (teachers, guidance counselors, ESE support facilitators, content specialists, and more). We are growing our membership and community outreach, one person at a time.

Shonda Zimmerman - President
Shonda is a teacher at Sun n Lake Elementary, teaching for over 10 years. She has been an active HCEA member for all but 1 year. She has served in many capacities for HCEA. She welcomes any questions you have.
Vacant - Vice President
Kimberly Henry - Treasurer
Treasurer Kimberly Henry is a teacher at Avon Elementary. She is the keeper of the books and purse. She focuses on fiscal responsibility, and creating data used by HCEA in membership drives, PD offerings, etc.
Annie Noethlich - Secretary
Annie spent 10 years teaching science and social studies at Sebring Middle before becoming a District Technology Resource Teacher in 2017. She is excited to bring her passion and experience to HCEA to help it grow.
