A message from the Chairperson
The school was born in 1997 out of a need to reduce crime in the parish. It started officially in 2009 from a committee headed by Mr. Adrian Robinson that identified the skill areas in demand and structured a set of programs to satisfy the need. Our major partner HEART Trust – NSTA came on board in 2010. In the process many more partnerships were formed, namely: Clarendon Crime Prevention Committee, Clarendon Parish Development Committee, Mac Rebuilders Ltd., Versailles Hotel, Social Development Commission, FC Reynolds, Tijoule Company, Citizens Security and Justice Programme, Jamaica Social Investment Fund, Jamalco, Jamaica Bauxite Institute, Sugar Transformation Unit, USAID and many more.
The initiative was taken by Hazard to develop a vehicle to carry out the training and empowerment necessary to beget change. Since inception Hazard has trained over 2,000 trainees in skill areas such as Cosmetology, Hospitality, Food Preparation , Electrical Installation and Welding. Our main goal is to focus on the youth of Jamaica to train and empower them to become an asset to businesses and society. The fate of the country depends on the youths, they are the future of Jamaica.
A message to our students: Success does not arrive in one day. Success has an inseparable tie to your individual everyday decisions, activities, and encounters, despite how big or small they are. Success is the achievement accomplished after battles and persistence. It is a dream, an objective, and a responsibility for achieving your yearnings and objectives in order to improve your quality of life. Success demands hard work and persistence, it is not achieved overnight.
A message from the Coordinator
Success does not come without any problem. To make progress, one needs the quality of mind and body, tirelessness, and the correct demeanor. There will be numerous obstructions in the way of accomplishing success, but on the road of accomplishing your goals it is important to continue improving the abilities that the individual has. The Scientist Thomas Edison failed ten thousand times before he created the light bulb, yet he never thought of giving up or throwing in the towel. It is better to take the hard road and never the shortcuts, because once success is arrived at, it will reward you with everything you desire.
Hard work and the craving to succeed is the best way to arrive at one’s goal. Success will doubtlessly go to the individuals who try sincerely and who work untiringly without losing energy.
