One click is all it takes to spread information online. It is easy to share different types of information, from news, memes, all the way to misinformation, and even disinformation. With the internet exposing different citizens with tons of information, it is important for us to be vigilant about what pieces of information we believe.

The Filipino word "hayag" signifies "to illuminate". This word perfectly encapsulates our advocacy, that is, to shed light on the generally new concept of citizen journalism. In our rapidly developing world, we must be conscious and responsible citizens who responsibly practice information consumption and dissemination through the internet. As a student-led organization, Hayag aims to educate the Filipino people, especially the youth, about citizen journalism through facts and lessons we have learned from research and our Media and Information Literacy course.
