The Northern & Hawke's Bay Federation of Women's Institutes consists of just two Women's Institute's in the area - Tamatea and Taradale. Unfortunately the smaller institutes have closed, the most recent one to close was Wharerangi at the end of 2025. The Woman's Institute is the largest women's organisation in New Zealand.
We are a fun-loving group of ladies who enjoy getting together to socialise, fund-raise and have fun. Some of the things we do include: craft, drama and entertaining, dinners and lunches, film events, competitions... and a huge range of events. There is something to appeal to everyone of any age!

Retirement Village, 190 Avondale Road, Greenmeadows.

Meets at 10am on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Tamatea Community Church, 1 York Avenue, Tamatea.
