Olympus OMD E-M10 Mark II - Specifications

Overview

As this camera is already in my possession, it seemed sensible to see what astronomical objects can be captured with this device. I must confess that I have only used this camera for landscape photos and frankly the Pixel 3a camera is good enough for everyday photography such that I haven't used the Olympus camera very often - and only then in 'Auto' mode.

For astrophotography there needs to be attention given to settings - so a learning curve will be needed for venturing into 'Manual' mode.

Some experimentation with settings is done for various astrophotography scenarios...

• Long single exposures without tracking (star trails)

• Short multiple exposures without tracking (stacking)

• Long single exposures with tracking (DSO)

• Various lenses with different apertures and focal lengths
