An Open Pedagogy Project
In order to submit, students will need to do the following:
Follow the guidelines laid out in the Invitation to Students.
Join the Student Comments Hypothesis group. (You will be prompted to create a Hypothesis account if you don't already have one. You may want to view the comments already posted in this group.
Go to the How Arguments Work page you want to comment on, highlight something, put your contribution in an annotation, and click "Post to Student Comments." Tag it #HAWcontest. This way other students will be able to see and benefit from it.
Click the "share" icon and copy the link to your contribution.
Fill out the submission form, including the following information:
Name, email, college, teacher name
Affirmation that you are willing to share your submission under a CC BY NC 4.0 license
Hypothesis username and links to the annotation posted with Hypothesis in the Student Comments group
Survey questions on open pedagogy and social annotation.
March 1, 2023: Annotation submissions due
April 1: Prizes awarded and certificates of recognition emailed
May 15: Student editorial contributors page goes live
August 15: Prize-winning annotations and select others incorporated into the textbook
Write 200-400 words
Create an original image (with alt text)
Create an original 3-10 minute video
