Havre Public Schools has been on a 4-day Support Friday Program for the past three years. The district sent out a community-wide survey in December to see the effectiveness of our current Support Friday Program. It’s imperative that we continue to gauge this calendar’s impact on our students to ensure that we provide the best educational system available for our students.
Since going to this calendar three years ago, we have watched scores throughout the district improve. Results from the survey will be used to guide the upcoming years when it comes to layout for the school calendar. I will make the survey results public for all to see later this spring.
Havre High School continues to do amazing work with students when it comes to our students taking Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment and Work-Based Program classes. Havre High School had 350 students this past year who took advantage of these opportunities. Students earned 1,839 total credits, which is truly outstanding. Currently, the tuition for all students enrolled in these high school/college-level classes is paid for by the district and the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation. Students can take these classes in person or online. Principal Kraske encourages all upperclassmen to take advantage of this opportunity, as it allows students graduating from Havre High School to have college credits that they can use towards future degrees, within the Montana University System.
If you have any questions at any time, please reach out to me directly!
Sincerely,
Brian Gum
Superintendent
Havre Public Schools
