Community Education is an opportunity for local citizens, community schools, agencies, and institutions to become active partners in addressing education and community concerns. Community Education embraces the following beliefs: education is a lifelong process, everyone in the community shares a responsibility for the mission of educating all community members, and citizens have a right and responsibility to connect the needs of the community with available resources to improve their community.
The Havre Public Schools' Community Education Program aims to serve the community by providing a range of opportunities for adults to pursue lifelong learning. In the class listing, you will find education, recreational, and enrichment activities to fit your needs. Classes offer a wide range of activities, including computers, crafts, cooking, physical fitness, and artistic talents. An average of 40 classes is offered in two sessions a year. Approximately 350 people attend each session.
Unique classes and adults willing to share their talents by instructing classes are in demand. If you are interested in a specific new offering or know of someone who would enjoy the rewards of teaching, please call the Community Education office at 395-8550 ext. 6716.
The fulfillment people enjoy from participating is a constant reminder of the benefit of offering Community Education classes in Havre.
