Why do I need to install my solar pv plant by a Havells Authorized Dealer only?

Havells is not an open sourced product - it means that it is installed only by authorized dealers. Open sourced solar products can be procured and installed by any solar/non solar contractor or company. In such a purchase, a customer has to check the authenticity of the supplier and each and every material installed in the solar plant. An authorized dealer is bound to install a solar plant as per the specifications laid down by the company, in which case the customer can rely on the company for such a product and not the contractor.

What happens if my Solar installer/contractor runs of business in a few years?

In case of Havells the service is with the company in any way. Thus it is not necessary that the solar installer should be in business for 25 years.

In an open solar purchase, everything depends on the dealer. He should be in solar business and contactable for the next 25 years, also the importer/distributor and the manufacturing company all should be there in the same business and contactable for 25 years for you to claim a warranty or service.

My friend bought an open source product one year back and its working fine, then why do I buy Havells?

It is good that its working fine. There are several good installers and products available and he may have made a good choice.
