HAVEIT is a dedicated organization established to combat PM2.5 pollution in Chiang Mai and its surrounding provinces. Our mission is to promote sustainable agricultural practices, particularly in sugarcane farming, to reduce air pollution and improve public health.
Our Mission
PM2.5 pollution, comprising fine particulate matter less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter, poses significant health risks, including respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. In Northern Thailand, especially Chiang Mai, seasonal agricultural burning has been identified as a major contributor to elevated PM2.5 levels. HAVEIT aims to address this issue by advocating for sustainable farming methods that eliminate the need for crop burning, thereby reducing air pollution at its source.
Our Approach
We focus on empowering sugarcane farmers with knowledge and tools to adopt environmentally friendly practices. By providing resources and training on sustainable sugarcane cultivation, we aim to minimize the reliance on traditional burning methods. This not only helps in reducing PM2.5 emissions but also enhances soil health and long-term agricultural productivity.
Our Team
Our team comprises passionate individuals committed to environmental preservation and public health. Led by experienced professionals in agriculture, environmental science, and community engagement, we work collaboratively to drive meaningful change in farming communities.
Join Us
We are continually seeking like-minded individuals to join our cause. Whether you are a farmer, researcher, or concerned citizen, your involvement can make a difference. Together, we can create a healthier environment for Chiang Mai and beyond.
