감사하게도 문완기 연구원이 2025년 9월부로 한국조선해양기자재연구원(KOMERI)에서 새로운 시작을 하게 되었습니다. 문완기 연구원은 2023년 학부 연구생부터 석사 과정까지 약 3년간 우리 연구실과 함께 하였습니다. 많은 고민 끝에 석사 과정에 지원한 만큼 성실하고 묵묵히 연구실 생활을 해왔습니다. 특히나 LH 바닥충격음 측정과 분석을 주도적으로 진행하며 춥고 더운 현장에서 고생이 많았습니다. 그 노력 덕분에 좋은 결과가 있어 감사와 안도의 마음이 듭니다. 

문완기 연구원이 연구실을 떠나기 전 연구실 인원들과 공식적으로 마지막 점심 식사를 했습니다. 지난 연구실 생활이 문완기 연구원에게 좋은 사람들과 함께한 소중한 시간으로 기억되길 바랍니다. 그리고 앞으로 새로운 공간에서 좋은 분들과 즐겁게 일하길 응원합니다. 올 한해 석사학위 논문 마무리 잘하고, 다음 모임은 부산 KOMERI에서 만나길!

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 가톨릭대학교 김나연 교수님이 "생체신호로 읽는 공간디자인: 신경건축학적 관점"을 주제로 강연해 주셨습니다. 본 특강을 통해 신경건축학 개념을 적용한 근거기반 디자인 사례들을 살펴볼 수 있어서 유익한 시간이었습니다. 우리 연구실도 신경건축학 연구를 시작해봐야겠다는 생각도 들었습니다. 

Professor Kim Na-yeon from Catholic University delivered a lecture titled “Understanding Spatial Design Through Biosignals: A Neuroarchitecture Perspective” at the BK21 Plus Expert Invitation Seminar. This special lecture provided a valuable opportunity to examine evidence-based design cases applying neuroarchitecture concepts. It also inspired our lab to consider initiating neuroarchitecture research.

2025년 후기 학부 및 대학원 졸업식이 있었습니다. 우리 연구실 김수비 연구원의 공학사 학위 취득을 축하합니다. 김수비 연구원은 우리 연구실에서 2024-2025년 동안 학부 연구생으로 함께 했습니다. 그리고 다시 대학원에서 학석사통합 과정으로 함께 합니다. 앞으로 남은 동안 밝은 에너지로 재밌는 대학원생활 하기를 기원합니다.

The undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies were held in the second half of 2025. We congratulate Kim Su-bi on obtaining her bachelor's degree in engineering. She worked as an undergraduate researcher in our lab from 2024 to 2025. She will continue to work with us in the integrated master's and doctoral program at the graduate school. We wish her a fun and energetic graduate school life for the rest of her studies.

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 한국환경연구원 박태호 박사님이 "인공지능을 이용한 소음지도 작성"을 주제로 강연해 주셨습니다. 본 특강을 통해 딥러닝을 활용해서 소음지도를 효율적으로 작성할 수 있는 기술을 배울 수 있었습니다. 더불어 미지의 분야를 개척하는 마음과 자세에 대한 부분도 흥미롭게 들었습니다.

At the BK21 Plus expert seminar, Dr. Taeho Park from the Korea Environment Institute gave a lecture on "Noise mapping using artificial intelligence." Through this lecture, we were able to learn how to efficiently create noise maps using deep learning techniques. It was also interesting to hear about the mindset and attitude of pioneering unknown fields.

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 서울대학교 음악대학 김영선 교수님이 "공연장 음향: 어쿠스틱과 전기음향-서로 다른 길 하나의 지향"을 주제로 강연해 주셨습니다. 본 특강을 통해 시간 공간 문화에 따라 음악과 음향이 어떻게 진화해 나갔는지 알 수 있었던 귀중한 시간이었습니다.  

At the BK21 Plus Expert Invitational Seminar, Professor Young-Sun Kim from Seoul National University College of Music gave a lecture on "Performance Hall Acoustics: Acoustics and Electroacoustics - Different Paths to the Same Goal." It was a valuable time to learn about how music and acoustics have evolved over time and culture.

우리 연구실은 2025년 07월 7-10일 인천 송도에서 열린 ICSV31 국제학술대회에 참석하였습니다. 박태호 석사과정은 바닥충격음 등급 간 지불용의 추정을 주제로 발표하였고, 전재윤 석사과정은 AVAS 감성평가 모델에 대해서 발표하였습니다. 필명화 석사과정은 오픈플랜 오피스에서의 적응형 마스킹 연구를 발표하였습니다.

Our lab attended the ICSV31 International Conference held on July 7-10, 2025, in Songdo, Incheon, Korea. Tae-Ho Park presented on the topic of estimation of payment among floor impact sound classes, and Jae-Yun Jae presented on the AVAS emotional evaluation model. Ming-He Bi presented her research on adaptive masking in open-plan offices.

우리 연구실은 2025년 06월 20-26일 스페인 말라가에서 열린 Euronoise 2025 국제학술대회에 참석하였습니다. 김건희 박사과정은 "Comparison between perceived acoustic and visual elements in urban environments through mental mapping approach"을 주제로 발표하였고, 전재윤 석사과정은 "Effects of audio-visual interactions on the soundscape in urban shopping streets"에 대해서 발표하였습니다. 홍주영 교수는 "Clustering analysis of human perceptual responses to birdsongs" 연구를 발표하였습니다.

Our lab attended the Euronoise 2025 International Conference, held from June 20 to 26, 2025, in Málaga, Spain. Geon-Hee Kim presented “Comparison between perceived acoustic and visual elements in urban environments through mental mapping approach”, and Jae-Yun Jeon presented “Effects of audio-visual interactions on the soundscape in urban shopping streets”. Prof. Hong presented his research on “Clustering analysis of human perceptual responses to birdsongs”.

2025년 한국환경공단 "소음 진동 정책의 국민 체감도 향상을 위한 관리방안 마련 연구" 용역의 착수보고회를 2025.06.10에 개최하였습니다. 철도기술연구원과 함께 지하철 객차 소음 관리 방안과 소음 감각지수 개발 관련 연구를 6개월 간 수행할 예정입니다. 

On June 10, 2025, we held the launch report of the Korea Environment Agency's "Research on Management Plan for Improving Public Perception of Noise and Vibration Policy" project. We will conduct research on subway cabin noise management plan and noise sensation index development with the Korea Institute of Railroad Technology.

2025년 연구실 첫 번째 논문이 Applied Acoustics 2025년 11월호에 게재 되었습니다.  이 논문은 사운드스케이프 디자인을 위한 새소리의 감성 및 심리음향 특성을 분석한 내용을 담고 있습니다. 싱가포르 난양공대 Augmenting Urban Soundscape (AUS) Phase 1 프로젝트의 일환으로 2018년에 시작한 실험이 2025년에 논문으로 마무리 되었습니다. 이로써 AUS 프로젝트에서 3년 간 제가 진행한 마지막 연구 결과가 마무리 되었습니다. 지금까지 총 7편의 AUS 논문을 작성하였고, 그 중 마지막 논문이라 더욱 감회가 새롭습니다. AUS Phase 1 프로젝트에 참여한 동료들 그리고 Gan 교수님께 감사드립니다.

우리 연구실은 2025년 05월 21-23일 제주에서 열린 한국소음진동공학회 춘계학술발표대회에 참석하였습니다. 김건희 박사과정은 심상지도 연구를 발표하였고, 전재윤 석사과정은 AVAS 청감실험 결과, 문완기 석사과정은 층간소음 간이 측정법, 박태호 석사과정은 바닥충격음 등급 간 지불의사 연구에 대해서 발표하였습니다. 홍주영 교수는 ISO 12913 시리즈와 자연소리 마스킹 연구 결과에 대해서 발표하였고 감사하게도 우수지도상을 수상하였습니다. 

Our lab attended the Korean Society of Noise and Vibration Engineering Spring Conference on May 21-23, 2025 in Jeju, Korea. Dr. Geon-Hee Kim presented her research on mental image map, Jae-Yun Jeon presented the results of AVAS evaluation, Wan-Ki Moon presented a simple measurement method for interfloor noise, and Tae-Ho Park presented a study on willingness to pay among floor impact noise classes. Prof. Hong presented the ISO 12913 series and natural sound masking research.

Our lab attended the Spring Conference of the Korean Society of Living Environment on May 17, 2025, at the University of Seoul. Myeong-Hwa Pil presented her research on “Adaptive Sound Masking for Cognitive Enhancement in Workspace”, Soo-Bi Kim presented her research on “Influence of Sound Loudness and Spatial Compatibility Perception on Gape Acoustic Satisfaction”, and Jae-Yun Jeon presented his research on “Binaural Transformation for Improving Soundscape Evaluation Quality”.

우리 연구실은 2025년 04월 24-25일 서울대에서 열린 대한건축학회 춘계학술발표대회에 참석하였습니다. 김건희 박사과정은 "주거공간의 시청각 디자인 요소가 생리적 반응 및 업무 수행에 미치는 영향" 연구를 발표하였고, 문완기 석사과정은 "열분해 부산물(WPB) 혼입 콘크리트의 흡음 성능 평가 및 건축 자재로서의 활용 가능성 연구", 박태호 석사과정은 "표준 충격원 음원을 이용한 바닥충격음 성능등급 간 WTP 평가"에 대해서 발표하였습니다. 또한 홍주영 교수는 <층간소음 종합전략 및 기술혁신 세미나> 그리고 <공동주택 바닥충격음 현황 및 미래방향 세미나>에 발표자와 사회자로 참여하였습니다.

Our lab participated in the Spring Conference of the Korean Institute of Architects held on April 24-25, 2025, at Seoul National University. Geon-Hee Kim presented “Effects of audiovisual design elements in residential spaces on physiological responses and work performance”, Wan-Ki Moon presented “Evaluation of sound absorption performance of pyrolysis by-product (WPB) admixed concrete and its potential utilization as a building material”, and Taeho Park presented “WTP evaluation between floor impact sound performance classes using standard impact source sound sources”.

홍주영 교수는 2025년 2월 27-28일 동안 말라에시아 쿠알라룸프루에 위치한 말라야 대학교 건축학과에 방문하였습니다. 건축학과의 Prof. Nazli 교수님 및 연구원들과 우리 연구실에서 진행하고 있는 프로젝트들과 향후 연구 교류 방안에 대해서 이야기 나누었습니다. 앞으로 함께 공동 연구 프로젝트를 진행하였으면 하는 바람입니다. 

Professor Hong visited the Department of Architecture at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 27-28 February 2025. We talked with Prof. Nazli and his researchers about the projects we are working on in our lab. We are looking forward to doing future research collaboration.

2025년 학부 및 대학원 졸업식이 있었습니다. 우리 연구실 박태호 연구원의 공학사 학위 취득을 축하합니다. 박태호 연구원은 우리 연구실에서 2023-2024년 동안 학부 연구생으로 함께 했습니다. 그리고 다시 대학원에서 석사 과정으로 함께 합니다. 앞으로 2년 동안 좋은 결실을 맺기를 기원합니다.

The undergraduate and graduate graduation ceremonies for the class of 2025 were held. Congratulations to Tae-Ho Park for earning a BSc degree. We wish you a fruitful time in graduate school for the next two years.

2025년 현대엔지비 "환경 음향 평가 표준을 활용한 자동차 실내 음환경 연구" 용역의 최종 보고회를 2025.02.19에 가졌습니다. 현대자동차와 처음으로 협업하는 과제라서 흥미롭게 연구를 진행하였습니다. 처음 해보는 전기차 소음 연구라 어려움도 있었지만 잘 마무리할 수 있어서 뿌듯한 마음입니다.  전재윤 연구원 1년 동안 실험하고 분석하느라 고생 많았습니다.

On February 19, 2025, we held the final report of the Hyundai NGB “Automotive Interior Sound Environment Research Using Environmental Acoustic Evaluation Standards” project. It was our first collaboration with Hyundai Motor Company. We had some difficulties because it was our first electric vehicle noise research project, but it was rewarding to finish it well.  Thanks, Jae-Yun Jeon for taking experimentation and analysis during the project.

우리 연구실은 전남대학교에서 열린 제 14회 건축음향워크샵에 참석하였습니다. 전남대 류종관 교수님은 웰빙과 음풍경에 대해서 깊이 있는 세미나를 해주셨고, 전남대 정윤남 교수님께서는 도시와 음풍경과의 관계에 대해서 재미있는 강연을 해주셨습니다. 또한 올해 공학박사를 받은 이송미 박사님이 박사 학위 논문을 주제로 발표하는 시간도 가졌습니다. 마지막으로 감사하게도 건축음향협회장님께서 홍주영 교수님에게 공로패를 전달해주셨습니다.

Our lab participated in the 14th Architectural Acoustics Workshop held in Chonnam National University. Prof. Jong-Kwan Ryu gave an in-depth seminar on well-being and acoustics, Prof. Yoon-Nam Jeong gave an interesting lecture on the relationship between cities and acoustics, and Dr. Song-Mi Lee, who received her doctorate in engineering this year, presented her doctoral thesis. Lastly, the president of the Architectural Acoustics Association presented a plaque of merit to Prof. Joo-Young Hong.

2024년 우리가 한 해 동안 이룬 것들을 정리해 봅니다. 연구 성과로는 SCIE 논문 5편(주저자 2편, 공저자 3편)과 국내논문 2편(주저자 1편, 공저자 1편)을 게재하였고, 국내외 학술대회에서 28편의 프로시딩을 발표하였습니다. 연구실에서 수행한 연구 결과가 처음으로 SCIE 저널에 게재된 것은 올 해의 가장 의미 있는 성과입니다. 연구 프로젝트로는 총 5개의 과제를 수행하였습니다. 특히, 환경부 음풍경 연구 용역과 현대차 AVAS 평가 과제를 새로 수주하고 성공적으로 프로젝트를 진행하였습니다. 마지막으로 연구실 구성원들도 기존 3명에서 6명으로 양적으로도 성장한 한 해가 되었습니다. 연구실 구성원 모두 수고 많았습니다. 2025년에는 우리에게 또 어떤 변화와 성장이 있을지 기대해 봅니다.

2024년 환경부 "음풍경 적용 도시소음 저감 시범사업 관리기반 마련 연구" 용역의 최종 보고회를 2024.12.18일에 개최하였습니다. 처음 수행하는 유형의 용역이라 까다로웠던 과제였습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 잘 마무리할 수 있어서 뿌듯한 마음입니다. 김건희 연구원과 학부연구생(유의상, 김수비, 오현아)들 너무 고생 많았습니다. 

On December 18, 2024, we held the final report meeting of the research on the "Urban Soundscape Design Project Guideline" supported by the Ministry of Environment. It was a challenging project because it was the first time we conducted this type of project, but we are proud that we could successfully finish it with the hard work of Geon-Hee Kim and the undergraduate research students.

우리 연구실은 2024년 12월 6일 한남대학교에서 열린 2023 대전세종충남 대한건축학회 학술발표대회에 참석하였습니다. 이번 학회에서는 학부연구생팀(김수비, 정이랑, 김예원)이 우수상을 수상하였고 학부연구생팀(신예빈, 최원종, 이헌민)이 최우수상을 수상하였습니다. 축하합니다!

Our lab attended the 2023 Daejeon Sejong Chungnam Korean Architectural Association Conference held at Hannam University on December 6, 2024, where a team of undergraduate research students (Kim Soobi, Jung Yirang, and Kim Yeowon) won the second prize and a team of undergraduate research students (Shin Yebin, Choi Wonjong, and Lee Heonmin) won the first prize. Congratulations!

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 KAIST 김성영 교수님이 "Immersive Audio Technologies with AI"을 주제로 강연을 하였습니다. 본 강연을 통해 AI 기술이 가상현실 공간 음향기술에 어떻게 접목될 수 있는지 배울 수 있었습니다.

At the BK21 Plus Expert Invitational Seminar, Prof. Sungyoung Kim from KAIST gave a talk on “Immersive Audio Technologies with AI.” Through this talk, we learned how AI technology can be applied to virtual reality space acoustics.

홍주영 교수는 스탠퍼드대학교와 엘스비어가 SCOPUS 기반 논문을 바탕으로 논문 수 및 피인용도, H-index, 학문 분야 랭킹 등 다양한 지표를 활용해 선정하는 2024년도 Acoustics 분야 전세계 상위 2%의 연구자에 리스트 되었습니다. Link

Prof. Hong is ranked in the top 2% of researchers worldwide in the field of Acoustics by Stanford University and Elsevier based on SCOPUS-based various metrics such as publications, number of citations, H-index, and discipline ranking.

우리 연구실은 2024년 10월 30-11.01일 부산에서 열린 한국음향학회 추계학술대회에 참석하였습니다. 김건희 박사과정은 "시청각 자극의 생리적 및 심리적 반응 분서을 통한 최적 자극원 도출" 연구를 발표하였고, 문완기 석사과정은 "카페 사운드스케이프 영향 요인 평가" 연구를 그리고 전재윤 석사과정은 "전기차의 주행조건에 따른 AVAS 사운드스케이프 평가" 연구를 발표하였습니다.

Our lab participated in the Korean Acoustical Society Fall Conference held on October 30-11.01, 2024 in Busan, Korea. Goen-Hee Kim presented her research on “Deriving optimum stimulus source through physiological and psychological response categorization of audiovisual jogs”, Master's student Wan Ki Moon presented his research on “Evaluation of cafe soundscape influence factors”, and Master's student Jae-Yoon Jeon presented his research on “Evaluation of AVAS soundscape according to driving conditions of electric vehicles”.

우리 연구실은 2024년 10월 23-25일 경주에서 열린 대한건축학회 추계학술대회에 참석하였습니다. 김건희 박사과정은 "야외 복합문화공간의 소음저감을 위한 모듈형 방음벽" 연구를 발표하였고, 문완기 석사과정은 "바닥충격음 등급 기준 설정을 위한 Willingness to pay 적용방법 고찰" 연구를 그리고 전재윤 석사과정은 "대형 카페 공간 모델링을 통한 음향특성 시뮬레이션" 연구를 발표하였습니다.

Geon-Hee Kim presented her research on “Modular Sound Barrier for Noise Reduction in Outdoor Complex Cultural Space”, Wan-Ki Moon presented his research on “Willingness to pay application method for setting floor impact sound rating standard”, and Jae-Yoon Jeon presented his research on “Simulation of acoustic characteristics through modeling of large cafe space”.

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 건설기술연구원 임한솔 박사님이 "실내음향 개선과 건물 에너지 효율화를 위한 천장 복사 냉난방 패널의 이해"을 주제로 강연을 하였습니다. 본 강연을 통해 복사 패널의 타공 특성과 흡음재 간의 관계를 살펴볼 수 있는 재미있는 아이디어를 얻을 수 있었던 시간이었습니다. 

At the BK21 Plus Expert Invitational Seminar, Dr. Hansol Lim from the KICT gave a lecture on “Understanding Ceiling Radiant Heating and Cooling Panels for Improving Indoor Acoustics and Building Energy Efficiency.” It was an interesting idea to look at the relationship between the perforation characteristics of radiant panels and sound absorption materials. 

2024년 연구실 두 번째 논문이 Applied Acoustics 2025년 1월호에 게재 되었습니다.  이 논문은 텍스트 데이터 기반으로 사운드스케이프와 다양한 컨텍스트를 평가하고 시각화하는 TD-CAMM 방법론을 제안함과 동시에 사례 연구를 통해 검증하는 연구입니다. 김건희 연구원 축하합니다!

우리 연구실은 나라여자대학교 허재영 교수님 연구실(Jingru Shen, Mami Kondo, Siho Takeuchi, Yurine Minaoka)과 제 2회 CNU-NWS 공동 세미나를 충남대학교에서 가졌습니다. 세미나에서 양국 학생들은 현재 진행하고 있는 과제에 대해서 발표하고 토의하였습니다. 향후에도 이런 학술 세미나가 지속되길 바랍니다.

The 2nd CNU-NWS joint seminar with Prof. Heo's lab at Nara Women's University was held at Chungnam National University. During the seminar, students from both labs presented and discussed their current projects. We hope to continue these joint seminars in the future.

우리 연구실은 영국 University College London (UCL) 건축음향 연구실을 방문하였습니다. Jian Kang 교수님과 Francesco Aletta 교수님 Tin Oberman  박사님 그리고 연구원들과 함께 연구 토의를 하는 시간을 갖었습니다. Francesco와 홍주영 교수는 7년 전에 함께 Internoise 좌장을 했던 사진 앞에서 기념 사진을 찍었습니다. 몇몇 학생들은 UCL에서 진행 중인 청감실험에 참여하였습니다. 

Our lab visited the Architectural Acoustics Lab at University College London (UCL) in the UK. We had the opportunity to discuss our research with Prof. Jian Kang, Prof. Francesco Aletta, Dr. Tin Oberman, and lab members. Francesco and Prof. Hong took a photo in front of the photo where they chaired Internoise together seven years ago. Some students participated in an ongoing auditory experiment at UCL. 

우리 연구실은 영국 허더스필드 대학교 응용 심리 음향 연구실(Applied Psychoacoustics Lab, APL)을 방문하였습니다. 이현국 교수님이 APL 내에 입체음향 시설과 다양한 레코딩 시설을 견학시켜 주셨습니다. 특히 VIRTUOSO를 이용하여 입체 음향을 시현해 주셨습니다. 허더스필드 대학교의 우수한 시설에 놀라는 시간이었습니다. 홍주영 교수도 대학원생을 대상으로 사운드스케이프를 주제 강연을 하였습니다. 

Our lab visited the Applied Psychoacoustic Lab (APL) at the University of Huddersfield in the UK. Prof. Hyunkook Lee showed us the 3D acoustic recording and reproduction facilities in the APL, especially the 3D acoustic demonstration using VIRTUOSO. We were amazed by the excellent facilities at the University of Huddersfield. Prof. Hong also gave a lecture to graduate students on the topic of soundscapes. 

우리 연구실은 영국 리버풀 대학교 건축음향 연구실(Acoustics Research Unit, ARU)을 방문하였습니다. Carl Hopkins 교수님과 이평직 교수님이 ARU 내에 있는 무향실과 잔향실 시설을 견학시켜 주셨습니다. 연구실의 긴 역사가 느껴지는 시간이었습니다. 

Our lab visited the Acoustics Research Unit (ARU) at the University of Liverpool, UK. Prof. Carl Hopkins and Prof. Pyeong-Jik Lee gave us a tour of the anechoic chamber and reverberation chamber facilities at ARU, and we could see the lab's long history. 

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 University of Huddersfield 이현국 교수님이 "Dimensions of Immersive Audio Experience"을 주제로 강연을 하였습니다. 본 강연을 통해 물리적 측면에서의 3D 음향 레코딩과 인지적 측면에서의 몰입형 오디오의 개념에 대해서 깊게 배울 수 있었습니다.

At the BK21 Plus Expert Invitational Seminar, Prof. Hyunkook Lee from the University of Huddersfield gave a lecture on "Dimensions of Immersive Audio Experience." It was a great opportunity to learn more about 3D sound recording and the concept of immersive audio from a cognitive perspective.

2024년 연구실 첫 논문이 Applied Acoustics 게재 되었습니다.  이 논문은 ISO TS 12313-2 사운드스케이프 평가 어휘 척도(영어)를 체계적이고 과학적인 절차로 한국어 어휘로 번역한 연구 결과를 정리하였습니다. 김태희 연구원 축하합니다!

Jae-Yun Jeon attended the 20th ICEE International Conference on Environmental Ergonomics on 3 June 2024 in Jeju, Korea. JaeYoon presented the research "Assessment of Soundscape in Urban Commercial Streets using Virtual Reality-based Soundwalks".

우리 연구실은 2024년 5월 22-26일 제주에서 열린 한국소음진동공학회 춘계학술발표대회에 참석하였습니다. 

We participated in the Spring Annual Conference of the Korean Society for Noise and Vibration Engineering (KSNVE) held in Jeju on May 22-25, 2024. 

한국건축음향협회 주관 건축음향시뮬레이션 프로그램 ODEON 기본 교육 및 실내음향 측정 교육이 충남대학교에서 진행되었습니다.  영산대 김용희 교수님께서 ODEON 기본기능과 실내음향 디자인 에 대한 기본적인 교육을 진행해 주셨습니다. 

The ODEON Basic Course and Room Acoustic Measurement Course were held at Chungman National University on 02 May 2024, which was supported by the Architectural Acoustic Association of Korea. Prof. YH Kim gave lectures on basic knowledge of the ODEON simulation software and room acoustic design. 

홍주영 교수는 2024년 대한건축학회에서 이원상(기금상)을 수상하였습니다.  이원상은 친환경 건축문화에 대한 연구 및 학술활동에 대한 기여 부분에 대한 상입니다.

Professor Hong was awarded the Lee Won Prize (Fund Award) by the Korean Institute of Architects in 2024. 

우리 연구실은 2024년 4월 24-26일 서울에서 열린 대한건축학회 춘계학술발표대회에 참석하였습니다. 이번 학회에서는 김건희 학생은 "텍스트마이닝 기법을 이용한 도시 주거공간의 층간소음 분쟁 요인 분석"을 문완기 학생은 "카페공간의 사운드스케이프와 실내환경품질의 영향 요인분석" 연구를 그리고 전재윤 학생은 "VR을 이용한 상점가의 시각환경에 따른 사운드스케이프 평가 결과" 를 각각 발표하였습니다. 

We participated in the Korean Institute of Architects Spring Conference held in Seoul on April 24-26, 2024. At this conference, Gunhee Kim presented "Analysis of Interstorey Noise Conflict Factors in Urban Residential Space Using Text Mining Technique," Wan-Ki Moon presented "Analysis of Influencing Factors of Soundscape and Indoor Environmental Quality in Café Space," and Jae-Yoon Jeon presented "Soundscape Evaluation Results According to Visual Environment of Shopping District Using VR." 

홍주영 교수는 대전 클래식 전용공연장 건립을 위한 전문가 포럼에 건축음향 전문가 패널로 참석하였습니다. 이날 전문가 포럼에는 전정임 충남대학교 음악과 교수님, 최정우 목원대학교 도시공학과 교수님, 황하연 한국음악협회 대전시 지회장님이 토론자로 참석해 의견을 나눴습니다. 가까운 미래에 세계적인 클래식 전용 공연장이 대전에 만들어지길 기원합니다. 출처 :  대전일보 기사 링크

Professor Hong participated in an expert forum on the construction of a classical concert hall in Daejeon. Jeon Jeong-Im, a professor of music at Chungnam National University, Choi Jung-woo, a professor of urban engineering at Mokwon National University, and Hwang Ha-yeon, chairman of the Daejeon branch of the Korean Music Association, shared their opinions. 

2024년 환경부 "음풍경 적용 도시소음 저감 시범사업 관리기반 마련 연구  연구" 용역을 수주하였습니다. 본 연구 용역 과제의 연구 목표는 음풍경 적용을 위한 사업추진 타당성 검토하고 사업 유형을 연구하는 것입니다. 또한 최종적으로는 음풍경 적용을 위한 사업 평가 항목과 사업관리 가이드라인을 제안하는 것입니다.

HAUA Lab launched a research project funded by the Ministry of Environment, Korea. The objectives of this research project are to review the feasibility of implementing a project for applying sound scenery and study the types of projects, and finally propose project evaluation items and project management guidelines for applying soundscape.

2024년 현대앤지비 "환경 음향 평가 표준을 활용한 자동차 실내음환경 연구" 용역을 수주하였습니다. 본 연구는 사운드스케이프 표준을 활용하여 전기자동차 실내 음환경을 평가 척도를 개발하고 향후 개발 방향성을 제시하는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다.

HAUA Lab launched a research project, "Indoor Sound Environment of Electric Vehicle Based on International Standardization of Soundscape Assessment", funded by the Hyundai NGV. This research project aims to develop new evaluation scales for electric vehicle (EV) interior noise environments using soundscape assessment standards thereby providing future direction of the development of EVs.

우리 연구실은 제 3회 건축음향협회 학술교류회에 참석하였습니다. 나라여대 허재영 교수님, 건설기술연구원 박상희 박사님, 현대건설기술연구소 김재호 박사님이 강연을 해주셨습니다. 또한 올해 건축음향 석사 졸업생들에게 졸업패를 전달하는 뜻 깊은 자리가 되었습니다. 

We participated in the 3rd Architectural Acoustics Association Workshop. Prof. Heo Jae-Young of Nara Women's University, Dr. Park Sang-Hee of Korea Institute of Construction Technology, and Dr. Kim Jae-Ho of Hyundai Construction Institute of Technology gave lectures. Also, there was a meaningful moment to deliver graduation plaques to this year's Master of Architectural Acoustics graduates.

우리 연구실은 싱가포르 ARUP 음향연구실(ARUP Soundlab)을 방문하였습니다 (2024.01.17). 바쁜 와중에도 Benjamin Cheng과 팀원들이 Soundlab 시설과 최근 음향 설계 프로젝트들을 소개해주었습니다. 세계 최고 수준의 음향설계 컨설팅 회사의 프로젝트를 경험할 수 있었던 인상적인 시간이었습니다. 

We visited the ARUP Soundlab in Singapore on 17 January 2024. Benjamin Cheng and his team members introduced us to their facilities and showcased their latest acoustic design projects at ARUP. It was an amazing opportunity to see amazing acoustic projects being done by ARUP, which is one of the world-leading acoustic consulting firms.  

우리 연구실(홍주영 교수, 김건희, 김태희)은 싱가포르 난양이공대학교 디지털 신호 연구실에 방문하여 함께 연구 교류를 하는 시간을 갖었습니다. 싱가포르를 떠난지 3년만에 다시 싱가포르에 방문하니 감회가 새로웠습니다. 또한 UCL Kang Jian 교수님과도 오랜만에 함께 할 수 있어서 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다. 따뜻하게 반겨주신 Gan Woon-Seng 교수님과 옛 동료들, Zhen-Ting, Kenneth, Bhan에게 깊은 감사를 드립니다.

We visited the Digital Signal Processing Lab at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore for research collaboration in January 2024. It has been three years since Prof. Hong left Singapore. It was also great to be Porf. Jian Kang from UCL. I would like to thank Prof. Woon-Seng Gan and my old colleagues Zhen-Ting, Kenneth, and Bhan for their warm welcome and hospitality during our stay. 

홍주영 교수는 2024년 1월 10-12일 동안 충남대학교 국제교류 위훤회 활동의 일환으로 베트남 간토대학교와 호치민시과학기술대학교를 방문하였습니다. 방문 기간동안 충남대와 베트남 대학 간의 국제교류에 대한 의미있는 논의가 이뤄졌습니다. 

Professor Hong visited Kanto University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Science and Technology in Vietnam as part of Chungnam National University's International Exchange Committee from January 10-12, 2024. During the visit, meaningful discussions on international exchange and cooperation between Chungnam National University and Vietnamese universities were held.

2023년을 뒤돌아 봅니다. 학술적으로는 SCIE 논문 3편(주저자 1편, 공저자 2편)과 국내 논문 3편(주저자 2편, 공저자 1편)을 게재하였고, 국내외 학술대회에서 23편의 프로시딩을 발표하였습니다. 새로운 연구 프로젝트로는 모두의 노력으로 끝에 기초 연구실 사업(BRL)에 선정되는 쾌거를 이루었습니다. 또한 환경부와 국토부 등으로부터 다양한 연구 용역 과제도 수행했습니다. 마지막으로 우리 연구실 첫 석사 2명(김건희, 김태희)을 배출하였습니다.

2024년은 우리 연구실의 연구 성과를 보여주는 첫 해가 될 것입니다. 용기를 내어 보이지 않는 곳으로 한 걸음씩 나아가는 것이 삶이라고 생각합니다. "Life is about courage and going into the unknown.”  설레는 맘으로 2023년 한 해를 마무리 합니다. 

우리 연구실(김건희, 문완기, 전재윤)은 2023년 12월 15일 한국생활환경시험연구원(KCL)에서 열린 소음진동공학회 건축부문회 학술교류회에 참석하였습니다. 학술교류회가 끝난 후에는 KCL 송국곤 박사님이 음향동 시설 견학 프로그램을 진행해 주셨습니다. 

We (Geon-Hee Kim, Tae-Hui Kim, Wan Ki Moon, Jae Yoon Lee) attended the Seminar on Architectural Acoustics organized by the Korean Society for Noise and Vibration Engineering which was held at the Korea Conformity Laboratories, Ochang. After the seminar, Dr. Song at KCL introduced the KCL acoustic facilities.

우리 연구실은 2023년 12월 8일 순천향대학교에서 열린 2023 대전세종충남 대한건축학회 학술발표대회에 참석하였습니다. 이번 학회에서는 학부연구생팀(박태호, 이지원, 김건형)이  "설문조사를 통한 다양한 카페 공간의 음환경 분석" 논문으로 우수상을 수상하였습니다. 축하합니다!

We attended the Annual Conference of the Architectural Institute of Korea (AIK) of the Deajeon-Sejong-Chungnam Chapter, which was held at Soon Chun Hynag University, Korea (2023.12.08). Undergraduate students at HAUA Lab made a presentation on "Analyzing the acoustic environment of various café spaces through a survey" and thankfully, they won the best paper award at the conference. Congratulations!

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 카이스트 문화기술 대학원 차승현 교수님이 "미래의 메타버스 공간"을 주제로 강연을 하였습니다. 본 강연을 통해 메타 공간에 대한 정의와 적용 그리고 미래의 전망에 대해 깊게 배울 수 있는 자리였습니다. 

At the BK21 Plus Expert Invitational Seminar, Prof. Seung-Hyun Cha at the Graduate School of Culture Technology, KAIST gave a lecture on "Future Metaverse Spaces." It was a great opportunity to learn more about the definition, application, and future of metaverse spaces.

Our lab (Geon Hee Kim, Tae-Hui Kim, Wan Ki Moon, Jae Yoon Lee) attended the 2023 Korean Society of Living Environment System Autumn Conference on December 01, 2023, in Seoul, Korea. Wan-Ki Moon presented her research on "City-wise evaluation indicators for cardiovascular impact of road traffic noise"  and Jae-Yun Jeon made a presentation on "The influence of visual elements on commercial space soundscape evaluation".

충남대 HAUA 연구실과 카이스트 문화기술대학원 AIRIS 연구실 (김성영 교수님) 간 연구 교류회가 2023년 11월 20일 카이스트 문화기술 대학원에서 열렸습니다. 첫 연구 교류회라 각 연구실에서 진행하고 있는 연구 과제에 대해서 간략하게 소개하는 자리를 가졌습니다. 앞으로 두 연구실 인원들이 정기적으로 만나서 서로의 연구 토픽을 교류하고 좋은 인연을 이어가는 시간을 많이 갖었으면 합니다.

A joint research seminar between our HAUA lab at CNU and AIRIS lab (led by Prof. Kim Sung-Young) at the Graduate School of Culture Technology, KAIST was held on 20 November 2023. Since it was the first research exchange meeting, we briefly introduced the research projects that each lab is currently working on. We hope that the members of the two labs will meet regularly to exchange research topics and make good connections.

우리 연구실 김건희 연구원과 김태희 연구원이 2023년 11월 15일에 석사 학위 논문 발표를 무사히 잘 마쳤습니다. 두 연구원 모두 석사 기간 동안 연구했던 결과물을 바탕으로 학과 교수님들 앞에서 긴장된 마음으로 학위 발표를 진행하였습니다. 김건희 김태희 연구원은 우리 연구실에서 배출한 첫 석사 학위 학생들이자 우리 연구실의 기반을 다져준 학생들이어서 더욱 감회가 새롭습니다. 아무 것도 없었던 환경에서 지금은 국내 어느 연구실과 비교해도 뒤지지 않는 연구 환경을 만들 수 있었던 것은 모두 두 연구원의 노력과 헌신 덕분이었습니다. 앞으로 두 연구원 모두 더 좋은 연구자가 되길 진심으로 기원합니다. 

Geon-Hee Kim and Tae-Hui Kim successfully defended their master's thesis on November 15, 2023. They are the first master's degree students to graduate from our lab, who are the ones who laid the foundation for our lab. It was all thanks to their hard work and dedication that we were able to create the current research environment of our lab. We sincerely wish them both to become better researchers in the future.

Our lab (Geon-Hee Kim, Tae-Hui Kim, Wan Ki Moon, Jae Yoon Lee) attended the 2023 Korean Acoustical Society Autumn Conference on November 01-03, 2023 in Busan, Korea. Master's student Geon-Hee Kim presented her research on "Identifying Conflict Factors for Improving Interstorey Noise in Apartment Buildings: Focusing on Interstorey Noise Complaints" and Master's student Tae-Hui Kim presented her research on "Evaluation of Optimal Masking Level Range for Road Traffic Noise of Natural Sounds according to Visual Environment". Jae-Yon Jeon, an undergraduate researcher, presented "Evaluation of VR-based shopping mall soundwalks" in the poster session.

우리 연구실(김건희, 김태희)은 2023년 10월 26-29일 동안 일본 나라여자대학교 연구팀과 나라와 오사카의 상업공간 VR 레코딩을 진행하였습니다. 또한 나라여자대학교에서 CNU-NWS 공동 세미나를 개최했습니다. 세미나에서 양국 학생들과 공동 연구 주제들에 대한 토의가 이뤄졌고, 홍교수는 Soundscape를 주제로 강연을 하였습니다. 

From October 26-29, 2023, we conducted VR recordings of commercial spaces in Nara and Osaka with a research team from Nara Women's University in Japan. We also held a joint CNU-NWS seminar at Nara Women's University. At the seminar, students from both countries discussed joint research topics, and Prof. Hong gave a lecture on Soundscape.

우리 연구실(김건희, 김태희, 문완기, 전재윤)은 대한건축학회 건축음향 분과 위원회와 한국건설기술연구소가 주최한 "Research Symposium on Noise Problems in Living Environment"에 참석하였습니다.  오랜만에 리버풀 대학교 이평직 교수님, 콘코디아 대학교 이준희 교수님, 난양이공대 Lam Bhan 박사님의 강연을 들을 수 있었던 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

We attended the Research Symposium on Noise Problems in Living Environment organized by KICT and AIK, held in Seoul, Korea (2023.10.19). It was a great time to listen to invited lectures by Prof. PJ Lee (Liverpool University, UK), Prof. Joonhee Lee (Concordia University, Canada), and Dr. Bhan Lam (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore).

우리 연구실(김건희, 김태희, 문완기, 정나영)은 2023년 10월 11-13일 여수에서 열린 2023 한국소음진동공학회 추계 학술발표대회에 참석하였습니다. 김건희 석사과정은 "데이터 마이닝 기법을 활용한 층간소음 실태 분석" 연구를 그리고 김태희 석사과정은 "ISO/TS 12913-2 사운드스케이프 감성 평가어휘 한국어 부합화" 연구를 각각 발표하였습니다. 정나영 학부연구생은 "생체신호를 활용한 음원에 따른 생리적 심리적 반응 분석"을 포스터 세션에서 발표하였습니다.

We attended the Autumn Annual Conference of the Korean Society for Noise and Vibration Engineering (KSNVE), held in Yeosu, Korea (2023.10.11-13). Goen-Hee Kim presented her research on "Analysis of complaints on community noise in multistory buildings using data mining techniques". Tae-Hui Kim presented "Translation of affective quality of soundscape in ISO/TS 12913-2". Nayoung Jung, an undergraduate research student, presented "Analyzing physiological and psychological responses to sound sources using bio-signals" at the poster session.

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 한국환경연구원 이병권 박사님이 "소음의 건강영향을 고려한 도시계획 및 관리"을 주제로 특강을 해주셨습니다. 본 강연을 통해 건강 지표 기반의 소음 관리 방법과 정책 방향에 대해서 깊게 알 수 있었던 유익한 시간이었습니다. 

At the BK21 Plus expert seminar, Dr. Lee Byung-kwon from the Korea Environment Institute gave a special lecture on "Urban Planning and Management Considering the Health Effects of Noise." Through this lecture, we were able to learn more about noise management methods and policy directions based on health indicators.

우리 연구실은 2023년 08월 20-23일 일본 치바에서 열린 Internoise 2023에 참석하였습니다. 학회 기간 동안 홍주영 교수는 "12.8 Acoustics of Workspaces" 좌장을 맡았습니다. 김건희 석사과정은 "Identifying contextual factors of soundscape based on mental mapping and caption evaluation methods" 연구를 그리고 김태희 석사과정은 "Translating the soundscape attributes into Korean"를 각각 발표하였습니다. 

We attended the Internoise 2034 held on August 20-23, 2023 in Chiba, Japan. Prof. Hong chaired the session "12.8 Acoustics of Workspaces". Geon-Hee Kim delivered a presentation titled "Identifying contextual factors of soundscape based on mental mapping and caption evaluation methods", while Tae-Hui Kim presented "Translating the soundscape attributes into Korean".

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 New Jersey Institute of Technology 고원희 교수님이 "Thermal and visual perception, emotion, and cognitive performance evaluation"을 주제로 특강을 해주셨습니다. 본 강연을 통해 시각 환경이 온열감과 감성 그리고 인지능력과 어떤 관계를 가지고 있는지 알 수 있었던 유익한 시간이었습니다.

It was a great time to learn about how the visual environment relates to thermal sensations, emotions, and cognitive performance.

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 광주대학교 양원영 교수님이 "Speech intelligibility in classrooms"을 주제로 강연을 하였습니다. 본 강연을 통해 음성 명로도와 관련 음향 지표에 대해 깊게 배울 수 있는 자리였습니다. 

At the BK21 Plus Expert Invitational Seminar, Prof. Won-Young Yang at Gwangju University gave a lecture on "Speech intelligibility in classrooms." It was a great opportunity to learn more about speech intelligibility and related acoustic metrics.

한국소음진동공학회 건축/환경보건 부문회 공동학술교류회가 국립산림과학원에서 열렸습니다. 본 세미나에서는 목조건축과 더불어 자연을 건축 공간에 접목하는 바이오필릭 디자인과 관련된 최신 연구성과를 소개하고, 건축 분야와 목재 분야 전문가들이 모여 관련 기술 정보를 교류하였습니다. 우리 연구실에서는 김건희 연구원과, 정나영, 박태호, 문완기 학부연구생이 참가하였습니다.

The Joint Seminar on Architectural Acoustics and  Environmental Noise organized by the Korean Society for Noise and Vibration Engineering was held at the National Institute of Forest Science, Seoul. During the seminar, the latest research on biofilm design, which incorporates nature into the built space, was introduced, and experts in the fields of architecture and wood exchanged their techniques and knowledge. 충남대학교 HAUA 연구실과 일본 나라여자대학교 EPPL 연구실 간 공동 연구 교류 MOU를 맺었습니다. 앞으로 우리 연구실은 나라여대 허재영 교수 연구실과 한국과 일본의 상업공간 음환경과 조명환경 연구를 진행할 계획입니다.   

We have signed a joint research exchange MOU between the HAUA lab at Chungnam National University, Korea and the EPPL lab at Nara Women's University, Japan. We plan to conduct research on sound and lighting environments in commercial spaces in Korea and Japan with Professor Jae-Young Heo's lab at Nara Women's University.

우리 연구실은 2023년 07월 26-28일 서울에서 열린 10th International Symposium on Temporal Design (ISTD)에 참석하였습니다. 홍주영 교수는 "Identifying perceptual components of birdsongs for soundscape design"를 발표하였고, 김건희 석사과정은 "Exploring contexts of urban soundscapes through text mining techniques" 연구를 그리고 김태희 석사과정은 "Difference limen of the preferred range of natural sounds level for enhancing noisy urban environments" 를 각각 발표하였습니다. 

We attended the 10th International Symposium on Temporal Design (ISTD) held on July 26-28, 2023 in Seoul, Korea. Prof. Hong presented "Identifying perceptual components of birdsongs for soundscape design", MS student Geon-Hee Kim presented "Exploring contexts of urban soundscapes through text mining techniques", and MS student Tae-Hui Kim presented "Difference limen of the preferred range of natural sounds level for enhancing noisy urban environments".

2023년 한국연구재단 기초연구실 지원사업(심화형) 신규 과제에 선정되었습니다. [탄소저감형 다성분계 복합재료 개발 기초 연구실]은 김규용 교수님을 중심으로 남정수 교수님, 홍주영 교수님, KAIST 곽효경 교수님이 연구에 참여합니다. 

We have won a  2023 National Research Foundation of Basic Research Lab Support Program (Advanced). The Basic Research Center for Development of Carbon Reducing Multicomponent Composites is led by Professor Kyu-Yong Kim and includes Professor Jung-Soo Nam, Professor Joo-Young Hong, and Professor Hyo-Kyung Kwak from KAIST.

우리 연구실(김건희, 김태희, 정나영, 박태호)은 서울 예술의 전당에서 열림 2023 교향악 축제 KBS 교향악단 공연을 관람을 했습니다. 초여름 예술의 전당의 생동감 넘치고 평화로운 분위기는 언제나 사람들을 들뜨게 합니다.

We (Geon-Hee Kim, Tae-Hui Kim, Nayoung Jung, and Taeho Park) attended a performance by the KBS Symphony Orchestra at the 2023 Symphony Festival at the Seoul Arts Center (SAC). The vibrant and peaceful atmosphere at SAC in early summer always gets people excited. 

우리 연구실(김건희, 김태희)은 2023년 05월 31일-6월 2일 제주에서 열린 한국음향학회 춘계학술발표대회에 참석하였습니다. 김건희 석사과정은 "사운드스케이프 디자인을 위한 캡션평가법 활용방안에 대한 고찰" 연구를 그리고 김태희 석사과정은 "사운드스케이프 평가를 위한 사운드스케이프 감성 어휘의 한국어 번역 연구" 를 각각 발표하였습니다. 

We attended the Spring Annual Conference of the Acoustical Society of Korea, held in Jeju, Korea (2023.05.31-06.02). Goen-Hee Kim and Tae-Hui Kim presented "Discussion of caption evaluation method for soundscape design" and "Soundscape Attribute Translation Project of Korean", respectively.

We attended the Spring Annual Conference of the Korea Institute of Ecological Architecture and Environment, held in Seoul, Korea (2023.05.13). Goen-Hee Kim and Tae-Hui Kim presented "Assessing urban acoustics using association analysis" and "Discussion of the range of preferable masking levels for natural sounds according to road traffic noise level", respectively.

We attended the Spring Annual Conference of the Architectural Institute of Korea (AIK), which was held in Pusan, Korea (2023.04.26-28). Goen-Hee Kim and Tae-Hui Kim made presentations on the acoustic umbrella and sound masking system in open plan offices, respectively. 

건축도시환경연구실 연구실 학부연구생팀 (이상현, 윤채현, 정나영)이 2023년 대한건축학회 대전세종충남지회 경진대회 [건축환경설비] 분과에서 최우수상을 수상하였습니다. 축하합니다! 

Undergraduate students (Sang-Hyun Lee,  Chae-Hyun Yoon, and Na-Young Jung)  in HAUA Lab won the best presentation award at the student competition supported by the Architectural Institute of Korea (AIK) of Deajeon-Sejong-Chungnam Chapter, which was held at Chungnam National University, Korea (2023.04.15). Congratulations!

홍주영 교수는 카이스트 문화기술대학원 콜로키움에서 "건축 도시 음환경 디자인의 새로운 패러다임으로써의 사운드스케이프"를 주제로 초청강연을 하였습니다. 도시 음환경을 바라보는 관점이 기존의 소음 저감이 아닌 도시 음환경 디자인에 초점을 맞춰야 한다는 인식 전환의 필요성을 공유할 수 있었던 의미 있는 시간이었습니다.  

Prof. Jooyoung Hong made a guest talk on "Soundscape as a new paradigm of architecture and urban design" at the Graduate School of Culture and Technology at KAIST. It was a great moment to discuss the new paradigm of soundscape design beyond the conventional noise control strategy for sustainable urban environmental planning.

영산대학교 김용희 교수님이 음향설계를 맡으신 소태산 홀에서 개관 전 실내 음향 측정을 진행하였습니다.  영산대 강남대 충남대 학생들이 모여서 함께 음향 측정을 한 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다. 우리 충남대 건축음향 연구실에서는 김건희, 김태희, 석사과정과 정나영 학부연구생이 참여 하였습니다.

At the Sotaesan Hall, where Prof. YH Kim at Youngsan University was in charge of acoustic design, room acoustic measurement was conducted together with students from Chungnam National University, Kangnam University, and Youngsan University before the opening. In our lab, Geon-Hee Kim, Tae-Hui Kim, and Na-Young Jung attended the measurement. 

한국소음진동공학회 건축부문회 학술교류회가 강남대학교와 삼성 주거성능연구소(고요안랩)에서 열렸습니다. 본 학술교류회에서는 학계와 산업계의 여러 연구자들이 참석하여 바닥충격음 관련 연구성과들을 공유하였습니다. 연구실에서는 김건희 연구원과 김태희 연구원 그리고 정나영 학부연구생이 참가하였습니다.

The Architectural Acoustic Seminar organized by the Korean Society for Noise and Vibration Engineering was held at Kangnam University and Samsung Building Performance Lab. Acoustic researchers and engineers from Universities and industries joined the seminar and shared their recent research works on floor impact sounds. In our lab, Geon-Hee Kim, Tae-Hui Kim, and Na-Young Jung  attended the seminar. 

홍주영 교수는 "문화취약지역 문화예술교육 지원사업"의 일환으로 충북 영동문화원에서 진행된 "대전심포니 오케스트라 협동조합과 함께하는 이야기 소리 콘서트 II" 프로그램 중 "음악과 건축"이라는 주제로 강연을 하였습니다. 

Supported by the Culture and Arts Education Support Project for Culturally Vulnerable Areas, Prof. Hong gave a lecture on the theme of "Music and Architecture" under the "Story Sound Concert II with Daejeon Symphony Orchestra Cooperation" program at Yeongdong Cultural Center in Chungcheongbuk-do.

우리 연구실에게 2022년은 첫 발걸음을 내딛는 시간이었습니다.  첫 석사과정 학생 2명이 연구실에 입학하였고, 연구 과제들을 처음 시작하였습니다. 학부 연구생 6명과 연구 프로젝트를 진행하여 공모전과 학술대회에서 좋은 결과를 내기도 했습니다. 학술적으로는 논문 4편(주저자 1편 공저자 3편)을 SCIE 저널에 게재하였고, 국내외 학술대회에서 13편의 프로시딩을 발표하였습니다. 

2023년은 연구실의 내실을 키우는 한 해가 되었으면 합니다. 학생들 모두 본인이 진행하는 연구 프로젝트가 좋은 결실로 맺어지길 바랍니다. 때론 어렵고 힘들겠지만 "우리는 방법을 찾을 것입니다. 언제나 그랬던 것처럼." (We will find a way, we always have.) 

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 공주대학교 송초롱 교수님이 "인체 쾌적성 측정을 위한 평가지표 활용법"을 주제로 강연을 하였습니다. 본 강연을 통해 다양한 생리지표와 측정 방법 그리고 인체 쾌적성 간의 관계성을 배울 수 있는 뜻깊은 자리였습니다. 

Prof. Chorong Song at Kongju National University gave a lecture on "Application of physiological-psychological indicator for measuring human comfort " supported by the BK21 Plus. It was a very useful time that we could learn various physiological indicators, measurement, and their relationships with human comfort.

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 전북대학교 이효진 박사님이 "벽체 표면의 음향 확산계수 결정"을 주제로 강연을 하였습니다. 본 강연을 통해 확산계수의 기본 원리와 측정법의 한계점을 극복하기 위한 향후 연구 방향까지 배울 수 있었습니다.

Dr. Hyojin Lee at Jeonbuk National University gave a lecture on "Acoustic Scattering Coefficient Determination for Wall Surface" supported by the BK21 Plus. Throughout the lecture, we could learn not only the basic concepts of scattering coefficients but also future works to overcome the limitations of the measurement methods of scattering coefficients.

우리 연구실은 2022년 12월 9일 한밭대학교에서 열린 2022 대전세종충남 대한건축학회 학술발표대회에 참석하였습니다. 이번 학회에서는 학부연구생팀(이상현, 심효원, 윤채현, 김태희)이  "개방형 사무실에서 물소리 사운드마스킹의 음환경 평가 및 인지기능 영향 분석" 논문으로 최우수상을 수상하였습니다. 축하합니다!

We attended the Annual Conference of the Architectural Institute of Korea (AIK) of Deajeon-Sejong-Chungnam Chapter, which was held at Hanbat National University, Korea (2022.12.09). Undergraduate students at HAUA Lab made a presentation on "Masking effect of water sounds for enhancing acoustic quality and cognitive performance in open plan offices" and thankfully, they won the best paper award at the conference. Congratulations!

2022년 환경부 "음풍경을 활용한 도심 소음 능동적 관리 방안 연구" 용역 최종 보고회를 진행하였습니다. 환경부 생활환경과 소속 담당자 분들과 기술자문위원님들이 참석해주셨습니다. 향후에는 7개월 동안 진행한 연구를 정리하여 최종 보고서를 작성할 예정입니다.

We had a final meeting of the project entitled "Urban sound planning based on soundscape approach" with officers in the Ministry of Environment and technical committee members to present the results of our soundscape design research project. Throughout the meeting, we could get not only insightful but also useful comments from the officers and committee members. We will put our effort into preparing the final report of the project.

우리 연구실은 2022년 11월 26-28일까지 제주에서 열린 2022 추계 소음진동학술발표대회에 참석하였습니다. 홍교수는 한국환경연구원과 환경부가 주최한 소음 건강 포럼에서  "건강 도시를 위한 도시 음풍경 디자인"에 대한 발표를 하였습니다. 김건희 연구원은 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 이용한 음풍경 분석 연구를 그리고 김태희 연구원은 최적 자연소리 마스킹 레벨의 차이역 연구 결과를 각각 발표하였습니다.

We attended the Autumn Annual Conference of the Korean Society for Noise and Vibration Engineering, which was held in Jeju, Korea (2022.11.02-05). Prof. Hong presented on the topic of "Soundscape design for healthy cities" at the noise and health forum organized by the Korean Environment Institute and the Ministry of Environment. Goen-Hee Kim and Tae-Hui Kim made presentations on the application of text mining for soundscape evaluation and the difference limen of preferable levels of natural sounds, respectively.

우리 연구실은 2022년 10월 23-25일까지 경주에서 열린 제24회 국제 음향학술대회(ICA 2022)에 참석하였습니다. 홍교수는 Soundscape of Urban Public Space 세션 좌장을 맡았습니다. 김건희 연구원은 "Mental mapping as a qualitative approach for identifying urban soundscapes"를 주제로 진행 중인 심상지도 프로젝트 결과를 발표하였고, 김태희 연구원은 "Determining preferable levels of natural sounds for enhancing noisy environments"를 주제로 진행하고 있는 연구 프로젝트를 발표하였습니다.

We attended the 24th International Congress on Acoustics (ICA 2022) which was held in Gyeongju on October 23-25 2022. Prof. Hong was chairing the session: "Soundscape of Urban Public Space". Geon-Hee Kim had a presentation on the theme of "Mental mapping as a qualitative approach for identifying urban sounds," and Tae-Hee Kim made a presentation on "Determining preferred levels of natural sounds for enhancing noise environments." 

충남대-난양이공대 공동 세미나가 2022년 10월 21일에 충남대에서 개최되었습니다. 난양이공대 신호처리 연구실 Gan Woon-Seng 교수님과 연구실원들은 난양이공대에서 진행되는 스마트시티 음향 센싱 연구와 사운드스케이프 연구에 대해서 발표하였습니다. 충남대에서는 김건희 연구원과 김태희 연구원이 심상지도와 최적 자연소리 마스킹 레벨 연구 결과를 발표하였습니다.

The CNU-NTU Joint Seminar was held at Chungnam National University (CNU) on 21 Oct. 2022. Prof. Woon-Seng Gan and his colleagues at Digital Signal Processing Lab at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore presented their recent research works on soundscape and acoustic sensing projects for smart cities. In our lab, Goen-Hee Kim and Tae-Hui Kim made a presentation on mental mapping and ranges of masking levels of natural sounds, respectively. 

한국소음진동공학회 건축부문회 주최로 건축음향세미나가 서울시립대학교에서 열렸습니다. 본 세미나에는 학계와 산업계의 여러 연구자들이 참석하였습니다. 연구실에서는 김태희 연구원이 젊은 연구자 세션에서 발표하였습니다. 

The Architectural Acoustic Seminar organized by the Korean Society for Noise and Vibration Engineering was held at the University of Seoul. Acoustic researchers and engineers from Universities and industries joined the seminar and shared their recent research works. and In HAUA Lab, Tae-Hui Kim made a presentation on his research work during the young researcher session. 

 학수고대하던 청감 실험실(손텍 시공)이 완공되었습니다. 앞으로 VR 청감실험을 할 수 있는 연구환경이 조성되었습니다. 배경소음 레벨은 15 dBA 정도로 아주 조용한 실험 환경입니다. 실험 공간을 잘 활용해서 재밌고 다양한 연구 프로젝트를 많이 진행 했으면 하는 바람입니다.

Finally, the construction of the VR Sound Room has been completed. The chamber was designed and constructed by Sontec. The measured background noise level in the chamber is approximately 15 dBA, which can provide a satisfying experiment environment. We hope that we can conduct interesting and various research projects with the VR Sound Room. 

드디어 독일 출신 더미 해드(HSU, HEAD Acoustics)가 연구실에 도착했습니다. 새로운 연구실 맴버에게 "해덕구"라는 이름을 지어주었습니다. 앞으로 덕구와 함께 재미있는 연구를 많이 진행 했으면 하는 바람입니다.

Finally, the artificial head (HSU, HEAD Acoustics) from Germany arrived at HAUA Lab. We gave the Korean name "HEA Deok-Gu" to the new lab member.  We hope to do a lot of fun and exciting research with Deok-Gu in the future.

2022년 현대 자동차에서 주최한 R&D 기술 포럼에 홍주영 교수, 김건희 연구원, 김태희 연구원이 참석하였습니다. 기술 포럼에서 홍주영 교수는 "공간에서의 사용자 경험과 사운드스케이프"를 주제로 발표를 하였습니다. 발표 후에는 다른 초청 발표자 분들과 함께 미래 모빌리티에 필요한 음향 기술의 역할에 대해서 패널 토의 시간을 갖었습니다. 

We attended the Hyundai Motor R&D Tech Forum in 2022. Prof. Hong presented the theme of "User Experiences and Soundscapes in Spaces" as one of the invited speakers at the Forum. After the presentation sessions, we had a panel discussion with invited acoustic experts about the roles of acoustic technology in future mobility. 

한국건축음향협회 주관 건축음향시뮬레이션 프로그램 ODEON 기본 교육 및 실내음향 측정 교육이 영산대학교에서 이틀간 진행되었습니다.  영산대 김용희 교수님께서 ODEON 기본기능과 실내음향 디자인 및 측정에 대한 기본적인 교육을 해주셨습니다. 충남대에서는 김건희, 김태희 연구원이 참석하였습니다.

The 1st ODEON Basic Course and Room Acoustic Measurement Course were held at Youngsan University on 10-11 August 2022, which was supported by the Architectural Acoustic Association of Korea. Prof. YH Kim gave lectures on basic knowledge of the ODEON simulation software and room acoustic measurements. In our lab, GH Kim and  TH Kim attended the course. 

2022년 환경부 "음풍경을 활용한 도심 소음 능동적 관리 방안 연구" 용역 중간 보고회를 진행하였습니다. 환경부 생활환경과 소속 담당자 분들과 기술자문위원님들이 참석해주셨습니다. 향후에는 음풍경 디자인 사례를 정리하고 체계화하는 부분에 많은 노력을 기울일 예정입니다.

We had a mid-term meeting with officers in the Ministry of Environment and technical committee members to share the progress of our soundscape research project. Afterward, we will put more effort into systemically consolidating the soundscape design practices and intervention.

2022년 한국연구재단 우수신진연구-최초혁신실험실 사업에 선정되었습니다. 본 과제를 통해 연구에 필요한 장비와 실험실을 구축할 계획입니다. 

HAUA Lab won a New Innovative Lab Supporting Grant funded by Korean National Research Foundation. Based on the Grant, we will purchase acoustic devices and build lab facilities and for our research.

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 VWL Inc. 김승범 소장님이 "공간 데이터 시각화 유형"을 주제로 강연을 하였습니다. 본 강연을 통해 복잡한 데이터에 규칙을 부여해서 명료한 시각화 정보를 얻는 것이 데이터 시각화 기법의 중요한 키라는 것을 다시금 생각하게 되었습니다.

Dr. Seungbum Kim gave a lecture on "Types of Spatial Data Visualization" supported by the BK21 Plus. The lecture introduced his recent spatial data visualization projects and methods. We learned that the key to data visualizations is to translate complicated data into visual contexts for clearly identifying patterns, trends, and insights from the data.

BK21 Plus 전문가 초청 세미나에서 나라여자 대학교 허재영 교수님이 "환경 심리와 캡션 평가법"을 주제로 강연을 하였습니다. 재미있고 영감을 주는 연구 프로젝트들을 소개해주는 뜻깊은 자리였습니다.

Prof. Jaeyoung Heo gave a lecture on "Environmental Psychology and Caption Evaluation Method" in the BK21 Plus Seminar. The lecture introduced interesting and inspiring research projects and methods, which will be helpful for our soundscape research projects at HAUA Lab.

Prof. Hong was charing the special issue of soundscape and made a presentation on "Soundscape design in urban public spaces".

2022년 환경부 "음풍경을 활용한 도심 소음 능동적 관리 방안 연구" 용역을 수주하였습니다. 본 연구 용역 과제의 연구 목표는 국내외 음풍경 연구 및 디자인 사례 조사를 바탕으로, 국내 도시재생사업 내에서 음풍경 기법을 활용한  디자인 가이드라인을 제안하는 것입니다.

HAUA Lab launched a research project funded by the Ministry of Environment, Korea. The project aims to conduct literature reviews on recent soundscape studies and case studies on soundscape designs in order to suggest soundscape design guidelines for urban revitalization projects.  

홍주영 교수는 서울 더케이호텔에서 열린 2022년 춘계 대한건축학회 학술대회(2022.04.28-29)에 참석하였습니다. 홍 교수는 [자연음을 이용한 도로교통소음 마스킹 효과의 정량적 평가]을 주제로 환경분과 세션에서 발표를 하였습니다. 

Prof. Jooyoung Hong attended the Spring Annual Conference of the Architectural Institute of Korea (AIK), which was held in Seoul, Korea (2022.04.28-29). Prof. Hong made a presentation on "Quantitative analysis of effects of augmenting natural sounds for masking traffic noises".

Prof. Pyoung Jik Lee at the University of Liverpool, the UK visited HAUA Lab. Prof. Lee shared interesting and insightful experiences on psycho-physiological assessments. We look forward to meeting Prof. Lee at international conferences in the future!

2022년 한국연구재단 우수신진연구사업에 선정되었습니다. 본 과제의 연구 목표는 확장현실 기술과 감성·생체신호 평가를 이용한 사운드스케이프 디자인 방법과 음환경 쾌적도 지표를 개발하는 것입니다.

HAUA Lab won a Young Researcher Grant funded by Korean National Research Foundation. The project aims to explore AI-driven soundscape design methods and soundscape quality indices using Extended-Reality technology and psycho-physiological assessment.

2022년 김건희, 김태희, 박소라 연구원이 HAUA Lab 석사 과정으로 입학하였습니다. 연구원 모두 학위 과정 동안 좋은 연구자로 성장할 수 있는 의미있는 시간을 보냈으면 합니다.

In 2022, three master's students (Geon Hee Kim, Tae Hee Kim, and Sora Park) joined our lab. We hope that they have a meaningful and fruitful time during their degree program in order to become good researchers.

2022년 첫 번째 "건축음향 최신 연구 동향 및 주제 공유 학술 교류회"가 충남대학교에서 2022.02.18일에 진행되었습니다. 이번 학술 교류회에는 전남대학교 건축음향 연구실(류종관 교수님), 영산대학교 스마트도시녹색음향 연구실(김용희 교수님), 강남대학교 건축음향 연구실 (이성찬 교수님)이 참석하여 최근 진행하고 있는 연구 프로젝트를 발표하였습니다. 충남대학교 HAUA 연구실에서는 김건희 석사과정과 김태희 석사과정이 본인 소개와 관심 연구분야를 간략하게 소개하였습니다.

The first Architectural Acoustics Research Seminar was held on February 18, 2022 at Chungnam National University. Architectural Acoustics Labs at Chonnam National University (led by Prof. JK Ryu), Youngsan University (led by Prof. YH Kim), and Gangnam University (Prof. SC Lee) participated in this seminar and presented their recent research projects. As HAUA lab members,  GH Kim and TH Kim introduced themselves and their research interests.

HAUA 연구실 학부 연구생들(이찬, 조재희, 고정현, 김수빈, 이승준)이 대한 건축학회 대전-세종-충남지회 학술대회에서 "코로나 시대 가림막이 교실 내 음성 명료도에 미치는 영향"을 주제로 발표를 하였으며, 감사하게도 논문 우수상을 수상하였습니다. 축하합니다!

Undergraduate students at HAUA Lab made a presentation on "Effects of partitions on speech intelligibility in a classroom in the COVID-19 pandemic" at the Annual Conference of the Architectural Institute of Korea (Daejeon-Sejong-Chungnam Chapter), and thankfully, they won an excellent paper award at the conference. Congratulations!

홍주영 교수는 제주 라마다호텔에서 열린 2021년 추계 소음진동공학회 학술대회(2021.11.24-27)에 참석하였습니다. 홍 교수는 "증강현실 기술 기반 자연소리를 이용한 사운드스케이프 디자인"을 주제로 유망신진과학자 세션에서 발표를 하였습니다.

Prof. Jooyoung Hong attended the Autumn Annual Conference of the Korean Society for Noise and Vibration Engineering (KSNVE), which was held in Jeju, Korea (2021.11.24-27). Prof. Hong made a presentation on "Soundscape intervention design by natural sounds augmentation based on augmented reality technology". 

홍주영 교수는 온라인 국제 학회로 진행된 Euronoise 2021(2021.10.25-27)에 참석하였습니다. 홍 교수는 "Perceptual Assessment of Operation Noises of Equipment on Construction Sites"를 주제로 현장 공사장 소음 분류 방법에 대해서 발표하였습니다.

Prof. Jooyoung Hong attended Euronoise 2021, which was held in Madeira, Portugal (2021.10.25-27), taking place only online event due to Covid 19 pandemic. Prof. Hong gave a presentation titled  "Perceptual Assessment of Operation Noises of Equipment on Construction Sites". 

홍주영 교수는 여수 엑스포에서 열린 2021년 대한건축학회 추계 학술대회(2021.10.27-30)에 참석하였습니다. 본 학회에서 홍주영 교수는 환경설비3 세션 좌장을 맡았습니다.

Prof. Jooyoung Hong attended the Autumn Annual Conference of the Architectural Institute of Korea (AIK), which was held in Yeosu, Korea (2021.10.27-30). Prof. Hong was chairing Building Service Session 3 during the AIK conference. 

홍주영 교수는 한국환경연구원(KEI)에서 진행된 전문가 초청 세미나에서 [사운드스케이프 패러다임]을 주제로 발표를 하였습니다. 향후 도시 환경 디자인에 있어서 단순히 소음 관리가 아닌 도시 음환경 디자인에 초점을 맞춰야 한다는 인식의 중요성을 공감하는 자리였습니다.  

Prof. Jooyoung Hong made a talk on "Soundscape Paradigm: From Theory to Practice" at Korea Environment Institute (KEI). It was a meaningful time to share the new paradigm of soundscape design beyond the conventional noise control approach for sustainable urban environmental planning.

홍주영 교수는 영산대학교에서 진행된 "메타버스 시대의 건축환경 융합연구" 세미나에 참석하였습니다. 전남대학교, 영산대학교, 나라여자대학교, 조선기자재 연구원 그리고 주식회사 알텍에서 현재 진행 중인 건축 환경 연구 과제를 발표하였습니다. 본 세미나에서 홍주영 교수는 최근 진행 중인 "건설 공사장 소음의 청감적 분석" 연구 주제로 발표하였습니니다. 

Prof. Jooyoung Hong attended a seminar on [Architectural Environment Research for Metaverse]. Professors at Chonnam National University, Youngsan University, and Nara Women's University also participated in the seminar. In the seminar, Prof. Hong made a presentation on "Perceptual assessment of construction noises".

홍주영 교수는 싱가포르 난양이공대(NTU)와 영국의 유니버시티 칼리지 런던(UCL)에서 주최한 사운드스케이프 세미나에 참석하였습니다. 세미나에서는 최근 싱가포르와 영국에서 진행되는 최신 사운드스케이프 연구 성과를 서로 공유하고 토의하는 시간을 가졌습니다.

Prof. Jooyoung Hong attended Nanyang Technological University(NTU)-University College London (UCL) Virtual Seminar on Soundscape Research as a collaborator. During the seminar, we shared ongoing soundscape research projects in Singapore and the UK. 

홍주영 교수는 한국도시설계학회 미래도시 연구회에서 주최하는 정기 세미나에서 "Soundscape as a new paradigm of urban planning"을 주제로 발표를 하였습니다. 

Prof. Jooyoung Hong gave a talk on "Soundscape as a new paradigm of urban planning" in the monthly seminar organized by the Urban Design Institute of Korea. 

홍주영 교수는 2021년 대한건축학회 춘계학술대회에서 진행된 [건축음향 설계기준 및 개정방안 특별 세미나]에서 "도시 사운드스케이프 평가 및 디자인"을 주제로 발표를 하였습니다. 

Prof. Jooyoung Hong made a presentation on "Soundscape Evaluation and Design" in the Special seminar on Architectural Acoustic Design Standards and its Amendment organized by the Architectural Institute of Korea.

홍주영 교수는 2020년 미국음향학회 동아시아 지부 주최로 열린"Soundscape in Action" 세미나에 연사로 초청되어 "자연소리를 이용한 사운드스케이프 디자인 접근법: Augmenting urban soundscape design approach using natural sounds"을 주제로 발표를 하였습니다.

Prof. Jooyoung Hong was invited to speak on "Augmenting urban soundscape design approach using natural sounds" at the Action Webinar Series organized by the East and South East Asia Chapter, Acoustical Society of America.

홍주영 교수는 국제 음향학회 Internoise 2020에서 사운드스케이프 세션 오너나이져를 맡아 이탈리아 나폴리 대학교 Luigi Maffei 교수, 영국 유니버시티 칼리지 런던 Jian Kang 교수와 함께 사운드스케이프 세션 구성과 좌장을 맡았습니다. 

Prof. Jooyoung Hong organized the soundscape sessions at InterNoise 2020, Seoul, Korea together with Prof. Luigi Maffei (Università degli Studi della Campania: Aversa, Campania, Italy) and Prof. Jian Kang (University College London, UK). 

홍주영 교수는 싱가포르 난양이공대와 HDB 주최로 열린 도시환경소음 세미나 시리즈에 강연자로 초청되어 "조용함 너머의 사운드스케이프 디자인 (Soundscape Design: Beyond Quietness)"을 주제로 발표 하였습니다.

Prof. Jooyoung Hong was invited to talk on "Soundscape Design: Beyond Quietness" at Urban Noise Webinar Series, Digitalisation of Urban Noise Sensing, Noise Control, and Soundscape Technologies. These webinar series were organized by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Housing Development Board (HDB) of Singapore.
