About Hassoan

Hassoan is a renovated traditional Japanese house that is over 80 years old. Built in the elegant sukiya style, it combines traditional craftsmanship with a relaxed and refined atmosphere. The entire property is available for private rental, allowing guests to enjoy an authentic Japanese living experience at their own pace.

Please feel free to stroll through the spacious garden and enjoy the changing scenery of the seasons.

The name Hassoan carries a special meaning:

• "Hachi" (八) comes from the address number 88. In Japan, the number eight is considered auspicious, symbolizing prosperity, growth, and good fortune.

• "So" (草) means "grass." Inspired by the resilient plants that thrive on the property, it represents strength and perseverance.

• "An" (庵) means a simple retreat or small dwelling.

Together, the name expresses our wish for enduring prosperity and resilience.
