Our organization, Harvest Helpers, is founded by 4 high school students in hopes of addressing the food insecurity present throughout Marin, by collecting excess produce grown from people's gardens, and donating it. Our top priority is to ensure that people who have limited access to fresh produce will receive the nutritious foods they need. With this organization, we want to bridge the gap between abundance and scarcity of food in our community that would otherwise go to waste. From these donations, we will then distribute it between food banks and the salvation army.
The creation of Harvest Helpers was mainly from our passion to create a community-driven approach to create a positive and meaningful impact to our community.
