Welcome to your official guide to the Harvest Haven Exotic Animal License (H.H.E.A.) system! This license allows players to house, care for, and in some cases, breed exotic animals within the Harvest Haven server.
Before applying, it is important to read and understand the following policies, restrictions, and care expectations. The goal of this system is to promote ethical, immersive gameplay where animals are well cared for and enclosures reflect their natural needs.
The Exotic Animal License is a special permit that allows players to own exotic animals with species-specific needs and behaviors. Each license is issued per species and is tied to a specific property.
Licenses must be:
Clearly displayed near the corresponding enclosure
Issued only after staff has approved the space
Followed exactly to remain valid
Failure to comply with H.H.E.A. regulations will result in the revocation of your license, the removal of your animals, and the possible denial of future applications.
To be eligible for an exotic animal license, you must:
Have a registered property
Build an enclosure that meets the minimum space and feature requirements for the species
Submit an Exotic Animal License Application
Wait for staff approval prior to receiving your animals
Each application is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Staff will visit your property to confirm the enclosure is safe, secure, and enriching before animals can be delivered.
If one of your animals dies, you must reapply. A staff member will need to re-verify your enclosure before a replacement can be issued.
You may NOT:
Trade, sell, or forge any license
Trade, sell, or breed any animal that lacks proper breeding approval
Capture and domesticate any exotic animal found in the wild
You MAY:
Purchase licensed animals from the official Licensing Office or approved server breeders
House multiple animals of the same species (if allowed)
Include approved companion animals in the enclosure for enrichment
Example: A mimic octopus may benefit from small passive fish in its tank.
Only certain exotic species are eligible for breeding. Each species profile will clearly indicate its breeding status and where offspring may be sold.
Some animals may only be bred and sold to the Harvest Haven Zoo or Aquarium. Others may be bred and sold to other licensed players.
If a species is not approved for breeding, it cannot be bred under any circumstance.
Selling or gifting animals to players without a valid license is prohibited.
Violating this rule will result in immediate license revocation and forfeiture of all exotic animals on your property.
While most exotic animals are protected from culling or exploitation, Emus and Ostriches are approved for livestock farming. These two species may be:
Bred in higher numbers
Culled for drops
Housed in functional farm environments (provided all enclosure standards are still met)
They remain under license regulation and must not be sold or traded without proper licensing, but they are the only exotic species approved for meat and material harvesting.

Required land, water, or airspace dimensions
Key environmental features (plant life, terrain type, heat/cold protection)
Companionship needs
Dietary information (for immersion/enclosure design)
Any special behaviors or enrichment notes
You must follow these requirements to maintain your license. These profiles can be found in the Harvest Haven Exotic Animal Compendium.
Exotic animals are not meant to be farmed or traded freely—this system is designed for realism, enrichment, and responsible care.
Emus and Ostriches are the exception, and may be treated as farm animals within reason.
Each license is a privilege. Repeated infractions may lead to a permanent loss of access to exotic animals.
Players are encouraged to make their enclosures not only functional but also beautiful and immersive.
