Our work focuses on how biological functions change with age. We study this at the physiological level (heart and kidney function), as well as the cellular level (blood platelets). This is helping us understand the genes and environmental factors that drive age-related changes in the human cardiovascular system.
The work has been funded by the British Heart Foundation, Kidney Research UK, SULSA, The Carnegie Foundation, Tuberous Sclerosis UK and the CB Dennis Trust - as well as locally by the University.
We're in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences within the Faculty of Health, Environment and Medical Science.
